I never had powers back home, and while we didn't exactly have Darkness monsters, we did have other dangers. Trolls mostly, but we had knights and patrolmen to keep them out of the village.
Here we have Darkness shielding, which is supposed to be pretty reliable - [ Though it's failed on more than one occasion. ] Coping - I consider them the same as any other danger I'd face back home. And, well, by trying to learn ways to protect myself in the event something did happen. There are people here who'll teach you the sword, or that ... "gun" if you can get one.
[ The room was probably big enough to do both. You only need to take off a ceiling for stargazing - as for the windows, well! ]
Really? Any help I could get for it, I'd love, honestly. I mean, resource-wise. I'm not sure where to even begin finding a way to find someone who could create a barrier for that sort of purpose.
That would be fantastic, thanks! [ A pause, because she remembers talking to you a few months ago - but there's a touch of embarrassment in her voice. She was worried she might have not got the name right and that is horrible. ] Anna, right?
[To be honest, the last time Anna remembers talking to Ella for longer than a few seconds was... Probably just before she got wasted on Saint Patrick's. Not that she wants to think about that, but uh.]
[ Y-yeah, that was about the last time Ella remembered speaking with Anna too. That was ... interesting. But Ella had more tact than to bring that up. ]
Right. I'm glad I remembered - I think it's been a few months since I last spoke to you. If memory serves, I don't think we talked for very long either. [ But that was then and this is now! ]
Right. Sam hired me on a couple of months ago. My roommate works there too - and I have two other friends that work there. Though technically one of them I actually met while working there.
... I... don't have to apologize for him about anything do I? He ... can be a little difficult sometimes. [ Awkward chuckle there, because that's an understatement. ]
No, no, nothing like that. I know him, kinda. He um.. We sort of met through m- Gabriel. [She huffs a snirk] He is a little on the 'difficult' side, you've got that right.
[ Ella phews slightly. She'd told people who knew he was her roommate that he wasn't so bad - even though Griffin would insist otherwise. Loudly and often. ]
Gabriel...? Is he a friend of yours, or one of his? I don't think he'd ever mentioned him to me.
[ And a bit teasingly. ] It's all a part of the charm, I guess.
Uh, one of mine. I doubt Griffin would mention him though, he's .. not exactly the nicest of guys. He likes getting under people's skin. [Hopeless shrug]
Ahh, so Griffin and Gabriel in the same room together is like someone persistently poking a dragon in the eye. It won't take long for someone to lose a limb, right?

[She swears he's mentioned Ella before, in passing. Or something. Or she'd heard somewhere or. Who knows.]

The question here is which one is the dragon, and which one is the poker of dragon eyes. Maybe they're both.
