Darkness pregnancy. If I hadn't seen stranger things, I might suppose it was all a fantastical hoax.
I wonder what will become of the child when it is delivered?

I wonder...
how fares the child of Lyta Hall?

They'll probably keep it, and the mother, in some sort of hospital turned prison. Pretend it's some sort of help, but it's more of an experiment.

That is unfortunate.

It is. The poor woman and her child have become nothing more then tabloid fodder for the media, and an experiment for those in charge.

I hope they are at least decently cared for.

Reflecting on the coincidence, are we?

I'd thought you past that by now.

Perhaps you are ahead of the times.

Perhaps.

Have you taken some special interest in the child?

The darkness child? I don't see why I would. Merely curious.

It's really no stranger than any demonic impregnation or something of that sort. Although those can be taken care of with a basic exorcism, which leads me to the thought that it's most surprising that this pregnancy was allowed to continue.

I suppose it is the woman's choice.

The woman's choice to have her child become A PLAYTHING FOR SCIENCE?

You would have had her terminate it?

The way they write about it makes it sound like it's going to be something out of Alien.

One of those horror films, I presume?

Mmm. A lot of people refer to the part as "chestbursting". Only with aliens popping out of you instead of... you know, babies.

Reminds me of a nightmare I once had.

Nothing good. It sounds like they're just gonna keep it and use it as a guinea pig for Darkness experiments. Honestly, I think her keeping the thing was a really... awful decision.

[He's not sure about this- about the wisdom of replying to this.... person. This being who feels as eternal and big as the Death He knows back home, and who might not understand why He's hiding. But, He supposes, everything has to happen some time.]

As someone once wrote, "The kindest acts of the wicked are cruel."

[Chuck tenses up instantly. Talking to these infinite beings is really a bad idea.]

I guess that's why people like to do their work anonymously. [SLIGHTLY SIGNIFICANT LOOK that only people In The Know would understand, and to everyone else just looks thoughtful.] Media forces them to be accountable.

We will all be held accountable, one way or another.
