Of course, your father loves you and won't leave you forever.

[After finding out more about what Father's Day is...]

Today is also a day for father figures, Nana. You have family here.

[Wow, will humans never stop creating bullshit celebrations? Claude can appreciate the greed involved--the commercialization aspect--but the fact there's yet another day to be reminded of the Creator rubs him the wrong way. Still, he will be gentle.]

Only Papa is Papa.

[This is endearing, really. Claude remembers when Alois was just as dependent on him.]

Nothing eases the pain?

[Can't help being drawn to upset children.]

No, papas won't leave their children forever. Especially when their children love them.

Nana has been waiting very long for Papa, but he's still not here yet.

[Father's Day. He didn't even think about it; it's not really something they celebrate back home, and it never seemed like a big deal here, either.]

Nana, I have an idea. How about we send your papa the card? We can put it in an envelope and put his address on it, and we can send it out to him, so he knows you're thinking about him.

But Nana doesn't know where Papa lives.

Well, how about you put the card in an envelope, and I'll hold onto the envelope. And whenever you make him a new card, or a new picture, you'll give it to me, and I'll put it into the envelope.

So when he finally comes here, we can give him all of the letters and pictures you made for him.
