[From the faint sounds in the background, it sounds like he's in a population centre. There is the bustling of feet, the sounds of people talking and talking and talking. The sounds are difficult to make out. So much noise... When he speaks at last, his voice is quiet. Distant. There's a tiredness to it and a slight croakiness as if his throat is dry.]
That was... [nerve-wracking] an experience. [A low sigh. He's getting off pretty lucky, considering, but damned if it isn't going to just get harder from here.]
In the middle east, they have a saying. خُذْهُ بالموت حتى يرضى بالحُمَّى "Show a man death, and he will be content with his fever." Truer words were never spoken, although I'm sure they do not fit everyone. Something tells me I've got some explaining to do.
