[The feed clicks on as the NV hits the ground, apparently dropped, bouncing once before clattering to a halt on the barren dirt. The only thing currently in view is someone's feet--expensive-looking black and white shoes-- and suddenly a few startlingly large liquid beads of crimson drop onto the otherwise monochromatic attire.]

[Gideon's end of the feed cuts off for a little bit. When he finally comes back on, he sounds tired--very tired--but not quite as incoherent or pained as he did previously.]

...Ramona... showed up. Helped me out.

[Op. There's another one. It's funny how these things just keep popping up. Ramona's still trying to figure out how exactly this NV thing works. The display of her phone is itsy bitsy - she's squinting to get a better look at what - or in this case, who - it's showing her.

But by the time she hears his voice - she doesn't have to squint anymore. Because she knows exactly who it is.]

[Gideon gives a hiss at that. He knows that voice. He knows it so well. Surprisingly, it's not as harsh as he was expecting it to be, considering the anger that sparked between them what was only moments ago to him.]

You... you won, okay, babe? You can gloat. I won't be... a-around much longer to endure it.

[Still, uh, where are the coins..? This isn't really how he was expecting his death to play out. Not at all.]

[Color Ramona confused. She hasn't seen him in - a while.]

[Oh. Oh - that's a lot of blood. Her eyes go wide when the situation finally registers. She can't believe he actually did it.]

Scott and--[Hold on. That's a coughing fit. And is that--yes, he coughed up blood. Tik tok, Ramona, he's certainly not getting any better.]--Ugh fuck, look. Don't play dumb, I am not in the mood for games.

[It's an educated guess that leads Retsu to the baseball field after seeing this post. And her guess proves quite correct, given the blood-coated young man curled upon the ground.

[She kneels down beside him, unfazed by the gore the sight provides, and gives him a cursory look over before reaching out to gently touch one of the arms folded protectively over his midsection. When she speaks, her tone is calm, assured, and compassionate.]

May I see the wounds? I can help you. [Master healer at your service!]

[Action] Ah, perfect. PS. I apologize for his attitude.

[Gideon has fallen silent since his initial post. Resigned himself to waiting for help from the girl that--at least from his timeline--did this to him. He seems all but unconscious, but when she touches him, he snarls immediately, doing his best to draw his lacerated arm out of her hands.]

No--fuck off.

[When you're a healer, you have to learn how to put up with people being nasty to you, and Retsu has been a healer for over two thousand years. She doesn't flinch at the harsh reaction, but nor does she obey the command. She cannot in good conscience leave someone to die in this manner.

[That the arm is injured as well does not escape her notice, and she does withdraw her touch. It's only by a mere inch or so, however -- poised to begin her work, though she doesn't do so just yet.] Is it that you wish to die?

No. [Not really. Kind of. He doesn't really know right now. All he knows that he's in pain and there's someone he doesn't know or trust kneeling next to him.]

[Oh hey--have a very tired sounding Gideon. By this point Retsu's already worked her magic--and while it may have gotten him out of life-threatening danger, he's still incredibly worked over by blood loss and pain.]

[He nods; his voice, when he speaks again, is less strident.]

[Even though Retsu brought Gideon out of critical condition, Gideon's various cuts still aren't completely healed. This new voice's inquiries, however, make Gideon instantly wary. He's sort of... really touchy about who he lets close enough to help him. Chalk it up to trust issues. So for now--he'll dodge the question.]
