[Have a video post from one of your resident Newcomer Doctors Siren's Port. It's about an hour after Sirens have sounded. And Erik has been following the Network most of the day. Erik has his lab coat, pants, and socks on hangers on a rod over a large bath tub. Their wet, dripping, and it's plain that something had it wet almost to his hips, ( Read more... )

Mmhmm. Do you want one?

Yeah! What about one that squirts ink?

No, I don't have one of those. But you may come up to my room and have one of the backwards writing ones.

Wow I'm glad I didn't go out now. Quicksand? No thanks. I already ate it once or twice and I do not want to find out what quicksand is like or how it taste.

What use is a pen that writes backwards though?

Quicksand is a marsh.

Coding and cyphering generally. [Short, quick, to the point. Works best with Pietro, anyway.]

That doesn't make it any better for me right? It's still bad.

Oh.

Aren't there better ways of doing something like that though?

Yes.

Many ways. Using more than one method at once works best.

[And Retsu, the perceptive lady that she is, notices that hint of amusement.] Ah, so it seems that someone chose to play to the superstitions of the date, as inappropriate as that is within the clinic.

Though those pens sound quite whimsical.

It does seem so. Although I've had students do far worse. [Mutant children like to PLAY after all.]

Oh they are. Today's notes are interesting to read, at least.

In the very least, these things are far more creative and less potentially harmful than what I am accustomed to diffusing at home. [Not much imagination among the Eleventh, sadly.]

Yes, I would imagine so.

These are interesting compared to things I have seen at home. New is some ways but not in an alarming way. [At least it wasn't the Clown. And he's heard STORIES of Robert Drake. And later Jubilee.]

I'll fix them when I find a normal pen.

[The video of Sub-Zero is a bit blurry, but he has his mask off, so it's blurry skin-tone. He sounds considerably less amused.]

I ran into a patch of marshy quick-sand as well.

[He teleported out and then froze the damn thing.]

The chairs I've had problems with are solid, but they move.

[He's been freezing them in place.]

Someone has too much time on their hands.

[He flew out of the quicksand.]

Moving chairs? hm. Put a safety belt one them and sell tickets for people to ride them?

[A bare hint of a smile.] Clearly they do.

They only moved when I tried to sit on them.

Thank you.

You're welcome. [He doesn't sound exasperated. Almost even amused, in a quiet way.]

What makes you so certain it's even one of our own?

[Daedalus is usually patient- when he's been doused in green slime bucketed over his office door, and his lanyard ID keeps flying up at random and hitting him in the forehead- not so much.]

The Newcomer Clinic being 'pranked' but the pranks being mostly harmless. At least I haven't hear of anyone being seriously harmed. I'm sure the biting teacups haven't been painless.
