Meteorite Rock Causes Uproar

[The article is in the scientific interest portion of the feed and as a result isn't really big news, even if it has a small group of SERO's best scientists jumping for joy.

It covers the mysterious discovery of what SERO is calling meteorite rock, judging by minute abrasions and searing on the surface. This damage suggests that it has spent some time in space, and therefore must also have passed through the Earth's atmosphere. The composition of the rock is, however, not the most exciting part of the discovery.

"A rock like this could only have been formed during a massive extra-terrestrial explosion, such as a star or planet exploding. It's been exposed to immense pressures and atomic-fission level forces and heat, and then it flew across the universe and landed here. That's something pretty special."

With the announcement today, debate had begun to rage about where the alien rock is really from, and who should possess it, but SERO are being unusually open about certain details. The composition, for example, is even listed in detail right in the article.

15.08% plutonium, 18.06% tantalum, 27.71% xenon, 24.02% promethium, 10.62% dialium (a genus of plant), 3.94% mercury, and finally 0.57% of a previously unknown element

A follow up article excitably covers the possibilities of discovering and naming a new element, life on other planets, and how it will make some lucky scientists very, very famous. It also suggests possible attempts to reproduce the rock, which has remarkable qualities and could yield spectacular results in the future, and finally there's a pretend write in competition to name the new element, though the feed makes it clear that it will probably be named after some bespectacled scientists locked in a SERO lab somewhere, no matter how good the names are.]
