Has anything like this happened before, something that affected us on a large-scale? I realize it's due to the Core, but has it done something like this before

Stuff showed up for people, from their worlds. Back around New Years... I don't know how anything but the core did that.

Only when the powers going haywire started did this start happening. I was keeping a fair amount of control on it, but it seems like it won't work for much longer.
