Who: The Newcomer Political Party and The Newcomers! When: January 13th, 7:00 PM to Where: The Newcomer Community Center Summary: Time for the Dance! Everyone have fun! Warnings: Anything is possible!
[This Doctor always did like a good party! Good fun, unless on Christmas. Horrible luck with Christmases in the long run. But either way, he did manage to get his hands on a black suit in order to come to this little soirée. Of course what suit isn't complete with a nice tie and a good pair of shoes.
But there he stands at the edge of the party, sipping a drink and leaning against the wall and looking out at the gathered people. No better sport than this, really. People watching!]
[Sometimes he's so optimistic it makes people want to punch him, really.]
I take pity on the man who goes to a party and doesn't enjoy it. [Here you go, sir, have a grin] Unless there's something I'm missing. Poison in the punch bowl? Leg eating aliens under the tables?
A bit on the dry side so far, yeah. Best not to judge a book by its cover, though! Nice way to meet people, though. Face to face, free of most distractions. Forced to mingle, really.
[Parties are not always Luxord's thing, alas. But being blessed with a decent poker face means that he can fake it rather well, and he does very much enough finding new people. It's part of his job, after all. So eventually he wanders over to where the Doctor is standing. The blond-hair-and-a-suit look might look a little familiar, especially given the wintry air to the place, but the earrings are certainly a new feature.]
[He gives the man a grin, swirling his drink in his hand as he evaluates the man. British, by the sound of him. Common enough dialect, and yet... not a place he can quite pinpoint mentally. Must be one of those blokes from another world.]
[From another world indeed, and another time to go with it. But that's not really here or there. Not when there's a party to be had and people to speak to, and he offers a smile at the Doctor's words]
I'd not imagine it's the dancing that draws you here.
Wouldn't say I have two left feet or anything, but no. Not the dancing.
[He nods towards the mingling people in front of them.]
Always good to get a chance to meet people face to face. Always notice little things you can't quite catch over videos or phones. Dunno why people avoid social events so much.
[Luxord nods his agreement. There most certainly is a lack of fine detail in less personal communications. Not usually enough to truly bother him, but enough to be noticed, perhaps.]
I'd wager they think they haven't the time to devote to it. Or perhaps it's merely they think it not suitable to the hand as it stands at the time. Their loss, really, if I might say so.
Did we? [A blink, but he doesn't look too perturbed by what she's saying.] Sorry, I try to remember everyone, but sometimes it all gets a bit jumbled in my head- a refresher, maybe?
But there he stands at the edge of the party, sipping a drink and leaning against the wall and looking out at the gathered people. No better sport than this, really. People watching!]
