Who: The Newcomer Political Party and The Newcomers! When: January 13th, 7:00 PM to Where: The Newcomer Community Center Summary: Time for the Dance! Everyone have fun! Warnings: Anything is possible!
[He's making an appearance not because he's here to do any sort of tomfoolery, but rather because he was in need of sustenance, and quite frankly he hadn't bothered to go about obtaining anything substantial. Not to say that party snacks were substantial, per say, but nevertheless he was here, his right arm in a sling after his surgery several days before and leaning heavily on the wooden cane the hospital had given him-ignoring the doctor's advice to stay at home where he could rest.
Why else had he come? Certainly not to dance.
Whatever his other reasons Manfred was dressed in his formal attire as always, standing on the outskirts overlooking the crowd.]
[ An elderly gent with a sling and a disagreeable look on his face. One might very well wonder why he bothered to come, if he wasn't planning on having a good time.
A quick glance over the NV feed from the past few days provides a name and a little more. How very interesting.
Slipping the device into his pocket, Xigbar wanders over, a congenial look on his face. ]
[It seems his reputation precedes him, or that his barking across the Network might have drawn some attention to himself. There's a strange-looking man approaching him, with quite a distinctive, if ugly scar curving down from eye to rest on a remarkably chiseled jawline.
He eyes him, but being congenial isn't his strong suit.]
[Larry, painfully obvious in his nearly all-white attire, has just caught sight of Manfred, and has no intention of facing him. He dithers, one hand suddenly on his hat as if he wanted to hide under it...
He hated the man. Larry was not one to hate, and yet...here was a person he could honestly say he hated.
For a long moment he just stands there, a short distance away, wondering what to do next. Should he talk to Manfred? Or should he just go on as if nothing had happened?]

Do you know me? Who are you?

The smile stays despite the sharp reception. ]
Only by reputation, Mr. Prosecutor. My name is Xigbar.

[A frown. Had Miles spread even more rumors than he was readily aware of? This was proving to be most...unpleasant.]
Reply
[ A compliment, rather than an insult. ]
Isn't that right?

He shifts, looking over at the drinks table as if he might've been contemplating having something. Then, he glances back to the other once more.]
Mn. And if I am?
Reply
[ Still smiling. ]
Wouldn't you agree, Mr. Prosecutor?

Interesting.
[Pause. He might be seeing where the other is going with this.]
Certain parties would prefer if I wasn't reinstated to my rightful place.

[ You see well, von Karma. He's implying exactly what you think he is. ]
Everyone should have the chance to be gainfully employed.

[Evidently you have his attention.]
Then I'd like to hear your proposal.

Let's just say the company I work is in the market for some legal counsel.
In exchange for your valued expertise, we'll gladly help you gain the position you deserve.

[As much as he's tempted he wants to know exactly what the terms are, negotiate them if necessary, and draw up a contract.]
If you are in fact offering me employment then I'd prefer to go over the details at length.

Good evening. You're looking... well.

Mister Creed, wasn't it? ...Your choice in neckwear is quite tasteful.
[He notes, though in comparison to his own its a little plain.]
