Who: The Newcomer Political Party and The Newcomers! When: January 13th, 7:00 PM to Where: The Newcomer Community Center Summary: Time for the Dance! Everyone have fun! Warnings: Anything is possible!
[ She felt good. The auction had been absolutely lovely, and rather entertaining also; she was happy with what had happened, wins or no - her bidding hadn't been for that but for the NPP itself, so the event had been extra successful.
Helen had arrived wearing this something that, if you looked closely enough, she may have seemed a little uncomfortable in. (Not the dress itself, she's worn far more that would seem uncomfortable, but the feeling of it - it wasn't anything that she'd have chosen herself, certainly not)
Choosing the bar first, a slightly celebratory glass of wine is in order, Helen makes her way across. Tonight has already been good and should continue fabulously ]
[ Well good thing somebody was having a good day! She smiles when she sees Helen approach, feeling a sense of relief. She'd been thinking about how much she needed to vent to Sandra about her day, and maybe Helen would be a good replacement. ]
Hey. I love your dress. [ She takes a sip of her fruity cocktail with a grin. She's a little taller than normal (about four inches, if you were measuring) thanks to some new heels, which means she doesn't have to crane her neck up to make eye contact with Helen. ]
[ Actually she still does, sorry Claire - she has her own heels hidden under that dress. Helen gave her a smile; it was always lovely to see you, Claire ]
Thank you. [ Helen ordered her wine before turning back to Claire ]
Were you at the auction also? [ She'd bidded on you, just in case you hadn't been ]
I couldn't make it. You would not believe the day I've been having. [ She takes a drink of her cocktail, wishing she could get drunk to forget everything that had happened that day. ]
What didn't happen would be a better question. [ She rolls her eyes. ]
Mr. Muggles left me more than a few little presents around the apartment when I first got up. Then my NV broke somehow, and my flat-iron, and then my shower wouldn't work. [ She sighs, shaking her head. ] I'm surprised a piano didn't fall on me on my way here.
Ah. [ If Helen looked a little amused at that she was apologetic - it wasn't amusing, none of what happened was but simply the fact that so much had happened? The fact that Claire was here and willing to do anything at all was proof of her resilience ]
That is certainly quite a day. I'm glad that you made it though. [ Relaxing after that kind of day would be good for her ]
[ Helen gave a nod to the bartended to catch his attention, repeating what Claire had told her for the drink, pushing the glass to her once it arrived ] There you are.
It's quite lovely. [ Helen turns to look at the rest of the room, scanning it for a moment before replying again ] Quite a lot of effort went into it, it should be a wonderful evening.

Just a fruit cocktail. I can't remember what it was called. I just told the bartender to give me whatever tasted good.
