Tenma was getting to the whole mingling aspect, and he was pushing himself to talk to people. Or, talk to them about normal things, and not just work, and more work, and even more work.

"Hi...Blaine, right? It's good to see you again!"

"Hi, Doctor," Blaine said with a smile. He looks a little tired around the edges but his smile is sincere and his hair and clothes are perfect. "How are you doing?"

"I'm great," Tenma smiled, raising his beer bottle in a parody of a greeting. "How are you? Having fun, here?"

"I always have fun in this place," he pointed out with a grin.

Except for therapy, that was pretty exhausting.

"What about you?"

Tenma laughed. "That's certainly true. I think I would get exhausted if I lived here!"

He paused to take a sip of his drink. "I'm having a lot of fun. This is my first Thanksgiving, and I'm glad to be here."

"You're first? You don't have them where you're from? Is that because of your world or because of your country?"

Blaine moved closer, curious about the story there and genuinely interested in the answer.

"Oh! It's because of my country," Tenma laughed. "I'm originally from Japan, as you can probably tell, and they obviously don't celebrate it there. But I consider myself to be German, since that's where I've been for most of my life, and Thanksgiving isn't really a holiday that's celebrated there."

He looked down at his Non-Canadian beer. "I knew about it, from TV, and friends who lived in America. But I've never actually celebrated it before. So, when Jubilee invited me and Nina... we jumped at the chance to give it a try."

"Oh. That makes sense. What do you think so far?"

"It's very... big. There's a lot of food, and everyone seems to be having a good time. I like it, it's something that you definitely feel at home with."

He nodded at that, smiling. "I think that's the point of the holiday. You spend time with the people you are grateful for with food that can make you realize just how much you have. It's a pretty nice time to celebrate. Back home it also ushers in the Christmas season."

"I've celebrated Christmas in the past... well, I've celebrated it with friends, and that was always nice. I liked that. But we didn't have Thanksgiving to bring us into December, before," Tenma smiled. "Still...so much food!"

Blaine grins at that. "Are you going to celebrate Christmas here too?" he asked after a moment.

"That's the plan!" Tenma nodded. "But this year, I'll be able to celebrate it with friends."

"What holidays do you usually celebrate back home?" Blaine asked, curious about the culture that Tenma comes from.

"Oh... um, just the regular holidays. I mean... Christmas, Easter, those kinds. It's not like the hospital ever closes down for the holidays, so I usually... worked... those days..." Tenma shrugged.

"Oh, well that's good though. You have an important job."
