Serrure trotted over to her, not at a run, but faster than a walk, with a sense of urgency, purposeful. "Are you okay?" He asked again, tipping his head and giving her a visual once over- though he wasn't just looking for wounds, Serrure was scoping out whether she might have other weapons on her person- or other valuables ( ... )

"All I saw was you," Serrure replied, squeezing her shoulder lightly. "Maybe your friend got here first and wandered away to look for you? We can look for him when whatever is out there goes away."

This was a nightmare. Almost literally. Only he was on the receiving end, instead of being the one tormenting others.

Was this revenge against him? For something? No. He couldn't...couldn't have done those things he saw in his dreams. If he had, Serrure was sure he couldn't live with himself. Those deeds were too awful.

And if this was punishment for what he might have done...

Youko’s face fell when she heard that. Who else could have brought him here? It had to be Keiki or someone like him. She did read about the Core, but it looked like a bunch of gibberish from a science fiction book to her. “Huh. Maybe.” It wouldn’t be the first time Keiki left her alone and confused to fend on her own, would he?

But somehow she had still not given up to find him.

“Serrure?” she asked tentatively when he looked lost in his thoughts. “Serrure?” she tried again. Five minutes had passed and the sirens were still ringing. Her ears were grated by the noise they made.

"Huh?" His head jerked up and his eyes focused on Youko again. "Sorry about that, I was ... just thinking, I guess." Nothing important. But from the look on Youko's face, he could see that she was suffering, too. So it couldn't be his own personal hell and the girl seemed too sensitive and sad to be responsible for the blood all over her so likely she wasn't guilty of anything.

This was all way too complicated. He could use a glass of wine and something savoury to eat. "Okay. So sirens and monsters. What do we do?"

Youko opened her mouth to ask About what? but no sound came out from it. He didn’t seem open to share his thoughts with her. She was good at reading people’s reactions and properly leave them undisturbed. She had a few misses here and there, but she had learned that talent to become an excellent student and exemplary daughter. “Monsters…” she uttered, “I read about them too. I think the sirens are a warning.”

What she forgot to read about was that they didn’t leave after the Sirens stopped ringing.

“M...Maybe we should wait until it’s silent again.” That would make sense, right? “Look for someone to help us.” Someone who were older like a police officer.
