[ Strange dreams were nothing new to Amy. In fact, they'd been unusually vivid ever since she arrived in the Port, but it made sense when the nights themselves were oozing with darkness and threatening to plague her nightmares frequently. This was a bit different though. These dreams were intense and real. More importantly, there was a flash of something familiar -- something out of her own memories. The TARDIS exploding, Vincent, the Pandorica opening... it was too close to home. Everything else just added to the layer of cold sweat that she woke up in ( ... )

[dreams were new. dreams were disturbing. dreams left the TARDIS feeling uneasy and vaguely lonely, like echoes from her time being everywhere. the sense of the alien, of macabre, of surrealism ... it was all so achingly familiar and completely unattainable in this body. but not when she sleeps, and so it is tonight, though this time, these dreams -- this fear and memory, the sense of being torn apart, of feeling your own demise -- this time is different

the TARDIS awakens with a shudder, sitting bolt upright in bed. immediately she's up and moving, determined to dispel the unease and try to figure out exactly why she dreamt of her own death. it's on this trek she comes across Amy, stopping to stare at the other woman with wide eyes]

Orange one?

[ Rushing into the living room, Amy realizes how it's still a bit strange to wake up in the same place as the TARDIS and not... inside the TARDIS. At least being confined to this city has given her time to adjust and learn how a time machine even has a soul. But this is new. Whatever was going on, whatever these dreams meant. She's a little jumpy when she comes face to face with the older woman, matching wide eyes staring back at her. ]

TARDIS? [ She grips the painting in her hand. It was all about the TARDIS, so if anyone knew what was going on right now, it had to be her. ] ... Did something just happen?

[she takes note of the painting curled up in Amy's hands, curious but somehow aware of what it is all the same] A dream, I believe. One I would much rather not have had.

A dream? So did I. Well, it was more of a nightmare, but ... What was in your dream?

[ Now she's attentive and listening for any kind of explanation for how this happened. Amy had seen this painting before she arrived here. If there was a connection to home, then she was clinging onto it. ]

[she doesn't answer immediately, looking down at the painting again before meeting Amy's gaze] Death. There was so much death.

Mine too. Was it you? Was that some kind of mind telekinesis thing?

[ Amy really doesn't know the technical wording for it, but she knows both her and Doctor are capable of it. ]

No, Amy Pond. This was not my doing.

Hang on. Not?

[ That's actually a worse answer because it explained absolutely nothing. ]

Then, where did this come from? [ Amy finally unrolls the painting, holding it up for her to see. ] How did this get here?

[seeing that image again gives the TARDIS pause. it's an event that never happened and yet has always occurred and she can remember, just as Amy, just as the Doctor. time can be rewritten, but she's a creature of time and there are always echoes]

Something is preying on our memories, it would seem. The Core, I should think. But how that came to be ... I simply don't know.
