Where: Sector 5 Fairgrounds (Point 13). A few acres of stepping back in time!
Summary: Siren's Port hosts a Renaissance Fair, a spring festival filled with historical reinactments, fun and fantasy elements.

Everything is running smoothly on schedule, with the weather a beautiful, sunny spring day. So come and watch some minstrels and puppeteers perform, try some hearth-baked meat pies, see the tradesmen at work, or take a photo in the stocks!

In the late afternoon, there is an event scheduled. A large banquet-style feast is set up by the fairgrounds' usual picnic table area, where the 'King' of the Festival (Governor Redgrave himself!) is due to make a costumed appearance. Surrounded by his usual bodyguard Voids, who are dressed today as knights, he will be ruddy faced and merry, out among the public for the first time in months.

However, the atmosphere is politically tense, and everyone from the bards and wenches to the lords and ladies, especially AGI affiliates, will be giving him a bit of a stink eye

In Mia's opinion the latter was much better, but that was what the cheeky grin was for.

"Oh. It must have been hard. For both of them."

"It was. Both them and their seven kids," he explained. Not that Michael ever seemed to think of quitting. Wishing for it, maybe, but he never thought about it.

"But it isn't something he can just quit."

Mia was silent for a moment. "All of us have our callings. Some of us will do what is right, no matter what the cost."

"I like those kinds of people," Harry said with a grin. Those were his kind of people. Unfortunately, those people tend to put themselves in harms way.

And they simply didn't have it in them to walk away when harm came knocking. Mia shook off her momentary unease with a sly smile. "Clearly. And might I add that you have very good taste."

"I do have rather good taste, don't I?" he said, grinning down at her. "You might have questionable taste in who you hang out with, but I think I should win some sort of award."

Thinking over her associates, Mia burst out laughing. "There are some who might say about about my associates, yes." Still chuckling, she squinted up at him. "What sort of award did you have in mind?"

"I don't know, do they have a specific certificate for hanging out with pleasant, attractive, past-and-future lawyers who hang out with wizards they possibly shouldn't?" Harry asked. "That seems rather specific. I think there's a wizard merit badge for that though..."

"No, but I'm sure we could find a way to make one. They usually just pay lawyers for marked accomplishments." She grinned. "Have you been busy collecting merit badges?"

[dresden4hire]

"Very busy, I'm just a few shy from making Magus Scout," he said with a solemn nod. "I just need to seal up a sword in a rock and have a king pull it out..."

"Oh, congratulations! We should see about finding you a king then."

[dresden4hire]

"No way," Harry said with a shake of his head. "That's when they make you wear the pointy hat. I don't think I'll look very good in a pointy hat for a few hundred more years."

Mia grinned and paused to study him briefly. "Oh no, I think it'll make you look quite distinguished. Besides, they say we grow into our accomplishments."

"Now you're just flattering me," he said, making a show of eying her suspiciously. "But it's highly effective, so you're off the hook."

"Oh good. I've never met anyone who didn't like a little flattery."
