[It is said that Destiny, in not seeing, can do nothing but see; that he sees the fine traceries the galaxies make as they spiral through the void. For thousands of years Destiny had read of the toils of humanity. He witnessed their daily struggles. The paths they wove, an intricate tapestry spread through time and space.

Destiny saw it before it happened. He read of what was to come and a few moments after, the spark shot through the island and everything, as he perceived, fell to darkness. The world was an inky black. He saw nothing.

He saw nothing and the book would not speak to him. Its pages were silent.

He dryly notes the irony. He shall appreciate it at a later instance. For now, he will remain in the library. Destiny adjusts the tome in his grasp. He breaths the scent of aged books and extends an arm out. His fingertips brushing over the binding of secondhand leather bound novels. Destiny, blind and powerless, navigates the aisle.]

[After Vincent gets over his initial shock, he's doing what he never could-- walking in the sunlight. The full sunlight of a clear sky. He's dressed in a tank top, shorts, and sandals. He look like a beach rat except for the complete lack of a tan. He should be, and is, deeply disturbed by the change but-- he is currently at his human body absorbing the rays of the sun and only reddening a little. But even if he burns, he will heal.

Still he knows Re-l will be upset if he comes home with a massive sunburn, so he ducks into the library.

And sees that man from before, the one that makes him uneasy. Still he's in such a marvelous mood he even approaches him with an upraised hand.]

Hey.

[Destiny halts and turns his head in the direction of the voice. He is aware that he has met this man before (as he has many others in this city), but, to his displeasure, he could not recall a name. As he could not recollect on what to call this man, he, too, failed to picture a face with the sound.

He inclines his head in return. Pride stifled whatever plea he would have made for assistance.]

You are...Destiny aren't you? [Vincent steps a little closer.] Are you all right?

[Because usually the man has something to say.]

Like many residing on this island, I too have been affected by the core's fluctuations. I am..."physically" intact.

[Physical being a key word. Destiny was a concept and thus, was never quite as palpable as both mortals or immortals who walked the Earth's surface. He wraps his arms around the book of souls. The shackle and chain links bound to his wrist clink. Both felt heavier though the weight was bearable.]

[Vincent blinks at the admission. He was affected but he did not think he would be as well. How powerful was the Core truly then?]

I see. Well. Do you like being human?

[Mutual topic.]

It is difficult to remain objective when bound to human form. I am to be the reader, the observer of all that was, is, and shall be. And yet, I am now a narrative in the tale it tells.

[Destiny considers]

Thus far it has been an experience I could have done without.
