This is the official newsletter for Sirens, a conference dedicated to women in fantasy literature. The newsletter is published once a month to the Sirens forums, mailing list, LiveJournal, and Facebook. Certain other updates are posted on the conference’s Twitter. I really enjoyed In Great Waters, I thought it had a really fresh approach to what is, at bottom, a not unusual plot. And the writing--and the attention to detail in it--were quite lovely.

Agreed that the plot isn't terribly unusual (for Anne, either--my review comments only upon Henry's share). It's done up well, however; I for one didn't notice at first. :) As you say, the writing is lovely.

Something I'm excited about: Laurence Yep's City of Ice is due to be released in June.
