There should be the theme from "That Girl" playing while I read this.

Look at it this way: at least the stranger-man who helped you get your feet out of the grate didn't cop a quick feel.

i always liked that show when it would play on nick at night. and there was always some big deal about her name being "ann marie." OMGZ WUT IS HER LAST NAME????? IT CANNOT BE MARIEE!!!

and yes, it was good that he did not cop a feel. A+ for him.

damn he is hot.

well at least you didn't have a jennifer lopez moment like in the movie the wedding planner. she gets her shoe stuck in a grate and a trash can is speeding towards her down a hill...but matthew maconahey saves her...although i might like that part.

hot. and SMART. and NICE. and courteous and all kinds of good things. if he didn't live in the city, i'd be all over him every day for sure.

and yes, thankfully i did not almost get squashed by a dumpster OR rescued by matthew mcconeghey (sp?). one is big and heavy and painful, and the other needs a shave and deodorant and some t-shirts.

Gotta love Metra's outrageously high parking fees.

That's why I only go into Chicago on the weekend, when parking's free.

Actually, the last station (Geneva) I took Metra from finally stopped charging fees or requiring commuters to buy a permit to park in the lot. But Geneva's a bit out of your way from you, I think.

$1.25 is outrageously high? i don't think that's bad at all, and i would have paid it for sure if i had been able to find the goddamn machine that takes money for that kind of thing. alas.

most metra stations have two lots, or two designated areas, where the first one is for people who have paid for a monthly (or yearly) permit, and the other is for daily fee people.

It's only outrageous when the smallest bill you have is a twenty, and not enough pocket change. It's happened to me before.

That parking ticket was pretty stiff, I thought.

well, i VERY rarely pay that fee. i pay it if there's a machine that takes singles or if i have enough quarters.

so maybe this ticket was like, paying all those OTHER instances COMBINED.

i can see ALL of that happening on seinfeld.
i was telling the shorter and not-as-fleshed-out version of that story to a friend of mine and she said, "damn, just listening to that is stressing ME out, i don't know how you made it through the day!"

and yeah, he totally is. i might be a little smitten. :)
