i had to work something for the College of ACES, today in the stock pavillion. the illini equestrians had a booth, and basically, my job was to answer questions, promote the club, and keep an eye on the pregnant mare we had in our care. simple enough. and there weren't a TON of people and we had this sweet little mare, who was sore as all hell and ( Read more... )

but damnville is kind of in the middle of nowhere. with easy access to farm stuff.

i could totally be wrong though, seeing as i've been there once.

It is, but that's exactly why people feel so threatened by all the farm stuff and REFUSE to have anything to do with it whatsoever. Damnville isn't so small that farm stuff is inescapable, but isn't big enough that people can feel secure enough in their non-hick status to refrain from emphatically denying they could stand to listen to one second of country music. Trust me, it's very easy to grow up there without having any contact with farm animals. . . especially if you're so determined to NOT BE A HICK OMG. ^_^

Oh, and I have yet to see a black farmer in this area. . . I'm sure there are some, but I think most of them are white. So it sounds like these kids wouldn't be going on down to relatives' farms like most of us would. ^_^

but seriously. i'm from chicagoish. there are NO farms out there ANYWHERE because there cannot be strip malls if there are farms in the way, hellooo...

but i have no farm background whatsoever. but i can sure the hell tell when a horse is BREATHING or not. and i'm not going to ask about a baby-daddy because i'm not on the maury povich show.

jessica is a lovely name.

but she was a dirty, pregnant, hairy, scruffy, but super sweet horse. it was just kinda funny that she, who is not hot, would share a name with you, who IS hot.
