This is such a sweet idea. I'm going to give it a try. Though I might wait a few days as Emily just ate some ribbons off a present a couple of days ago and she's been barfing them up ever since. Silly dog.

Isn't it. It never dawned on me and then I stumbled upon it online looking for Christmas ideas and there you go.

Oh no. Yes, silly dog. We had cats that did that. My Sydney would just chew on the ribbons but my sister's cat Phoebe would eat them and... well it was bad.

I hope Emily is okay soon so she can enjoy the treats you'll make her!

Also added the picture I wanted to share with you all of my childhood dog at Christmas. See I didn't exaggerate. There he is squeeking his toy while we are in front of the tree (can't see much of that but....).

Our cat used to eat the tinsel off the tree and it would end up coming out her backside, which was crazy looking to say the least, but she never threw it up. Emily has barfed ribbons twice now (last night at 2am of course) and I hope that's the end of it!

Sweet! Pets are so adorable.

Ewww. Yeah same happened to my sisters cat. I hope that is the end of it for Emily too.

What a lovely tribute. I haven't had a dog since I was a child; I've always been more of a cat person, but I do love dogs, too. If I lived alone, I'd definitely have a BIG dog. I love the independence of cats, but mine are also very loving. Each of my five have such diverse personalities, just like children do.

I love your cookie recipes.

Thanks. Kind of same here. I had dogs as a kid and then we moved onto cats. I'd say I'm a cat and dog person. I love them both. I think ideally I'd like to have both too.

Cats have VERY distinct personalities but then so did my Jordy but he was the first dog I ever had so I don't know if that was just him or a dog thing too.

I love loving kitties. They are the best. Drives me nuts when they are standoffish... I want to pet them!

Thanks!

The only time I didn't have an animal with me was when I was away a college. But after graduation I moved to NYC and almost immediately got two kittens. A dog wasn't practical because I never knew for sure when I'd be getting home from work. Cats have litter boxes, but dogs need to be taken out.

Three of mine are standoffish sometimes, but two of them are lovable ALL the time.

Loveable ones are the best. Standoffish is okay but then they have to be willing to not scratch when you force a little love on them. LOL

My Sydney was standoffish before her sister died and such a pansy. I could easily cuddle her against her will. But then when her sister died she was all about love all the time. I was happy that happened in her last couple of years.

*hugs* What a lovely idea for one of the posts. Love the recipe will have to do this for Major, who already has his Christmas stocking stuffed full of goodies for Christmas :D

I knew you'd like it. And why not. I always gave my furry babies gifts so I say make them goodies too. (Major is so spoiled, but why not!)

The best thing about these treats are that they are something they can eat that, as a treat in moderation, is good for them so it doesn't just have to be a Christmas treat.

I never even thought to make treats for my cats or even the dogs I used to have. In the future, maybe I will.

*big hug*

They deserve it and after the hell Major lived through he deserves to be spoiled rotten :D

Exactly. I've made treats for Saffy in the past. Such a good way to make something that is good for them but is a treat too.

Have a fantastic Christmas hon *big hug back*

It is so true. So spoil him rotten! LOL

Yes, and you can see the appreciation when they get so excited to have a treat. They are so loveable.

Thank you. I did have a pretty good one. *hugs*
