Another fic. Can't be bothered with headers etc at the moment, so, it is a sort of Ten/Martha, Ten/Jack, Jack/Martha ficlet.

WARNING: Some spoilers for series 3 (basic ones) and for The Empty Child/The Doctor Dances. ALSO there is some phrasing which could be construed as anti-Rose. It isn't, for me, beacuse I loved Rose, just as much as I do Martha ( Read more... )

I liked that one. Someone needs to tell the Doctor those things now LOL. Remind him that Rose wasn't perfect.

She was great, but not perfect, and I think the way they were separated, the unfairness of it all, had made him forget the flaws, of which there were some.

That was highly enjoyable and very true. Rose wasn't perfect and the Doctor needs to realise that and that there are two very lovely people who he needs to love as much in return;)

Oh, I love this. It's beautiful and sweet, and I don't think it read anti-Rose really at all (but like you, I love Rose and Martha), and I think you captured the... tension created by the Doctor's grief-coloured memories very well indeed.

Thanks, I did worry. I liked Rose, but I've actually grown to like her lsightly less due to the huge hype around her - she seemed like a great character, but this whole 'perfect, true love' thing bugs me. I get that she was different to his other companions, but she wasn't flawless, and people tend to highlight new character's flaw, and compare them. /rant, sorry.

This is lovely - I'd love this to happen. Martha's been turned down by the Doctor so much, she might just forget for a moment that she IS fantastic. Jack is a good one to remind her. :-)

I'm a Jack fan too, so of course I agree! :-) I like that you managed to do this without putting Rose down, as I love both Martha and Rose.
