Sansa thinks the not locking up evil people idea is foolish in the extreme. That said she will be extremely bitter that Vimes will just lock up people he knows and certain other people were allowed to roam free and threaten babies despite their psychopathic tendencies being known. XD

Not that this has much impact on the actual plot except maybe her giving William a good quote. :)

Muahahaha. yeeeeesssss, I was kind of hoping that Sansa would get angry about that. I totally approve of her giving William a quote. Vimes doesn't. XD

Sonya's dealt with psychopaths before (it comes with her career), so even though she's not sure exactly what Carcer's done exactly, she'd feel extremely wary and even paranoid about those she cares for.

She'll be less than thrilled that some people are actually arguing for his release. Her experience with criminals in the Special Forces taught her that not everyone wants or cares about being given a chance to start over, and that of course they'll say 'they're sorry' if threatened, but only to save their own skin, not because they're actually sorry.

Yay! Vimes likes having people on his side. :D At this point I'm thinking I'll have some kind of EP for Vimes shortly after her locks Carcer up so that people can tag in and express their opinions if they feel like. And, of course, Sonya is encouraged to tag in if she wants to.

If you need him, I'd volunteer Glen as a possible 'talk Vimes out of it' person. He understands the necessity for the declaration, and while he does not in anyway think it's the perfect solution, he knows where that selective road goes. Though he'd definitely try to avoid using Lloyd as an example of why it's important. :| If you have someone else more suitable though, no problem at all! Just wanted to offer. He's currently a member of the Council so that gives him a little official leverage.

Also, as to that. If you need someone to act in official council capacity, as long as he's re-elected, you are welcome to him as well.

Ooohhhhh, yes, Glen could be a good person. I'm assuming they know each other, since they're on the Council together, and I think Vimes would respect Glen. Sooooo that might work well. :D

Right, naturally they would. For the record too, Glen would never have been particularly shy about expressing his opinion about the positives and negatives of the declaration. He's hasn't ever particularly bought into the concept of Tabula Rasa, so him saying something wouldn't be any bleeding heart/blind trust in the goodness of all people, lol.

*nodsnods* Which would definitely help with the convincing. :D Hmmm, we should have a thread with them beforehand at some point.

I don't want Polly to be killed off, but don't forget that Young Samuel is attending pre-school, and that can factor into things.

Oh, I've definitely been keeping that in mind. :D I have no doubt that Carcer will be making lots of taunting remarks about Young Sam, and I think Jess mentioned to me that Carcer might want to manipulate some of the pre-school/chidren's office people. But I will let her speak to that further. *g*

Yes, I will likely need to talk to the childcare/pre-school people, because above all else Carcer wants to freak Vimes out by getting close to his kid, at every opportunity. Any ideas of how that might happen (even something as simple as the younguns playing on the playground and Carcer coming by to watch) would be appreciated. :)

Sounds good. And when that happens, that would officially move Carcer into the "creepy" camp for Polly. However she feels about the wrongness of incarcerating Carcer before he's done anything wrong (and she'd be an idealist, here), she would probably have heard some about the history between Vimes and Carcer through the grapevine, or at least that "it's personal" for Vimes. Having Carcer show up and take an interest in young Samuel would definitely be described by Polly as "pushing it".

If you want another trusting soul I can give you Jen! She's not completely naive but she does try to see the best in everyone and is a big believer in second chances, so I think he could convince her he's a good guy.

He's very good at it. :D The more people he can have believing in him the more gleeful he'll be.
