These LUL tube trains are 1983 stock... Read about them here and you'll discover they were the Austin Allegro of the London Underground, so notorious for unreliability they survived in service for a fraction of the time of others, barely 14 years, comparative to the 40 odd years, the likes of which the Victoria Line '67 stock has lasted. Those tubes were painted and trashed in-situ not at Cockfosters. One of the pair of Cockfosters tubes is here http://www.flickr.com/photos/squeakywheel/3927169024/ off in the countryside somewhere. The thing is the security measures at South Harrow haven't been working or monitored for years now, probably 10 years or so? Everyone used to go in daytime from the woods round the back and over into a backgarden then over the fence. You should go back and spend a bit longer there, no need to rush.
