For all you heraldry peeps out there:

What would the closest Irish analog to Marguerite be? I know they Gaelicized Joan to Siobhan... something for Margaret, perhaps?

I happened to stumble across this the other day at Academy of St. Gabriel:

Mairghread seems to be what you're looking for. I'd been looking through Names Found in Anglicized Irish Documents

See this article also. Note that the "header" form (the one at the top of the page) is the standardized spelling. Also note that the Annals were compiled after the years in question, so spelling is more reflective of when they were compiled than when the events actually happened.

Are you looking for Modern Irish, or the pre-1925-spelling-reform spelling?

As pointed out already, the analog you're looking for is most likely Máirghréad (pre-reform spelling, also Scottish Gaelic) which became Mairéad in post-1920s Ireland.
