I'm sorry if this is adding to a slew of election-related posts on your friendslists. Whenever you get irked by people linking or saying the same thing, though, you should just think of me, with my 480-person friendslist, which I refuse to filter. If this wasn't locked I would hold down everyone on my friends list and make them read it. I have a crush on your brain. There, I said it. I'm not ashamed.

Ha! I just unlocked it, although that isn't necessarily an imperative to hold people down and force them to read it.

My brain: crushes on you. But doesn't crush you! I taught it that distinction, finally. Heavy little jerk. :D

I do do it, actually, in a kind of abstracted, "I would like to note that this is nice" way. I've been feeling that urge to go "HI HI HI I WANT SOMETHING PLEASE AND THANK YOU" at the sky lately, which is actually what made me think of this whole post.

I came her via Carolinecrane. As a history teacher, thank you for writing this. I voted today and there were immigrants who were voting for the first time and who needed poll workers to read them the ballot; I was never prouder to be an American then this morning while I waited an extra five minutes to vote.

Thanks for the heads up. I'm really enjoying the turnout for this, which is reaching the levels it should reach; there's something really awe-inspiring about the possibility that America will finally start to honor its commitment to democracy, even just from the commitment of individuals to the process.

Yeah, see you know my feeling on democratic republics, and I get that people disagree with me about duty, because I kind of fucking love it, seriously. But election days make my little federalist heart warm because people are fulfilling their responsibility to each other by protecting our freedoms.
