It's incredibly sad to see what happened at Virginia Tech, although it's not all that surprising. It is amazing to me how desensitized we are to this kind of thing, though. I expected customers to be talking about it all day, but no one said a word. And all of the witnesses on CNN.con have these rote phrases like they are reading from a script. Not even any tears...
The reaosn this kind of thing freaks me out so bad is it reminds me how fragile life really is. When people die due to old age or illness, or in war torn or high crame areas, or even because of any "normal" crime it is easier to take because it isn't such a shock.
When this kind of thing happens it just hits home that it could be any of us at any time. Every single one of us is at the mercy of every single other person out there.

That's the scariest thing. I'm sure all of these people who were shot by this person had plans for after school. Dinner, studying, meeting friends. In an instant those things can change.
Wow. Depressing.
