Last night I was looking over our joint bank account when I spotted something like this:

CHECKCARD CIC*CE CREDIT REP
8003888725 CA ON 02/15
$9.95
Laura and I both had no idea what this was, so I went into our banking history and I found 3 more transactions like this, once per month between the 15th and 20th, since November. wtf??? Laura had the ( Read more... )

problem somewhat solved.
we are being refunded $30 of the $40 - better than nothing.
THAT COMPANY IS A SCAM!

that is so fucked! I'm sorry that you both had to deal w/ this crap. I hate shady ass thiefs! arghhhh!

My husband and I are going through the exact same thing right now after some research, it is very shady because the amounts they withdrawl are different for each person too. We have been charged 12.95 a month for 3 months now. Bank tells me I have to wait and call next week until this last one posts to my account then they can fight it. I'd like to beat the crap out of someone at that company can you imagine how many people are getting scammed and probably don't know it. In the mean time this company is falsly banking it on unauthorized withdrawls bunch of pricks.

I had this same thing show up on my bank statement. After doing some research I realized that it was for freecreditreport.com. I had signed up for it but forgot to cancel before they charged. Here is a link to CIC. CIC stands for consumerinfo.com. It is an Experian company. Hopefully this can be helpful.

Thanks for the link. The strange thing is I never signed up for freecreditreport.com or any of those other services.

Thanks so much for this. It appeared on my Bank of America Account as well. I caught it pretty quickly but I really hate this.

I have emailed customer service. Hope we can get this resolved.

I never signed up either.

I'm so glad that I'm not the only one!! I googled the phone number and found this posting. I am sooo frustrated!! I cancelled the 'membership' that I never approved or agreed to and STILL get charged a membership of 12.95 (sometimes it's 9.95 if they are feeling guilty). Arggghh!!
