What do you think the regulations should be? I don't want to put 'minimal amount of lines' because poetry should be very ... free. Perhaps the only regulation is "make sure your thought is complete" ... and maybe "if the song has lyrics, I suggest that you not listen to them before writing."

I don't think a line min/max is necessarily bad. Literary journals and the like do it all the time. I think maybe a max is more appropriate in this case though. As in...let's avoid epic poems. Ezra Pound-ishly short poems, I can see, but...not the Iliad.
Which is to say, maybe the restrictions should be more nebulous?

I like what you said about having a maximum. Complete thought (or whatever you interpret of that), but only under 50 lines.
