I didn't think I'll finish this entry for somein30, but thankfully I made 10 icons, trying to show me being here, and making icons. I went with a EXTRA HARD MODE (crazy, right?).

I'll always like negative space icons and I simply love your close crops! 7-9 are my favorites in this post. All the different coloring techniques are awesome. I also really like the grungy look of your Banshee icons :D

This is such a gorgeous set! I love your style - there is nothing wrong with a simple approach to making icons, especially when they're this good. They look clean and so beautiful <3
All the different coloring styles look lovely, the close crops are just stunning and the lighting ♥♥♥ And you can also differentiate every different 'era' and make them look polished - so good! :) I'm in love with the Gaga icon (so quintessentially yours!), but also love 1, 4, 5, 7, and 10 :D

Oh wow, extra hard?! I'm so glad that some are actually doing that!! This set is incredible, and it was super interesting to learn more about your style and fandom history!

1 is suuuper pretty, ngl the style you're describing doesn't sound good at all yet this icon is amazing! The toned down contrast and matte coloring works so well in a way that looks inspired by old trends, but completely new. So, perfect for the challnge :)
3 is gorgeous and Intro is great for this type of text! I love the text use here and the purples look so good. The coloring and lighting in 4 are perfection, and I love the heavy shadows and dark vibrancy in 7!
Omg I totally hear you on 8, that was definitely a style I also wanted to try but never really got anywhere with it! (and you're right that tturners was the master of it for sure) Fwiw I think you nailed it in this icon, GORGEOUS crop and just the right amount of contrast

It's always been a great getaway from real life (especially for the last few years), so I'm just happy being around, and seeing that LJ is still alive after all these years.
