Dave, on the other hand, had been lucky as all hell. The teleporters hadn't seen fit to scramble his DNA any more than they already had, and he was just fine with that. Never knew what you'd end up with. Sure, he could probably deal with being a pony or a troll or what the fuck ever, but if given the choice? Human all the way. It was fucking liberating.

And as a result it hadn't been hard to convince Dave out on another trip around the city. One of them, anyway. He had Jade at his side and the clearest head he'd had in years. He'd be smiling like a huge fucking dork if he wasn't so good at self-restraint.

It didn't take Dave long to notice the small furry animal camped out in one of the teleporters. Living creatures stuck out like sore oozing thumbs in the still and quiet city. He gave Jade a soft nudge with his elbow.

"Hey. Check it out, we got us some company."

Jade has been enjoying her recent omniscience. Planning the ridiculous embarrassment of a certain spidertroll had its ups and downs, but so far she loved the fact that she could help people. Red Dave's warnings had been enough to scare her off of actually hurting anyone, but making Dave smile was her second plan.

Looking away from a building she'd been staring at -- learning its architectural style, its construction and the easiest means to bring it down -- she noticed the animal. "Oh! Is that a cat? How did it get in there?" Curious! Jade moved ahead of Dave to pick it up.

Jack was so busy trying to work the stupid goddamn lousy communicator-thing he almost didn't notice the Dave and roboJade sneaking up on him. His ears perked up instantly when Dave spoke up-- oh fuck no.

He had very few options here. He wasn't going to outrun anyone like this, and typing was hard and tedious with paws, especially when it was only one paw. And if this was his Dave and he found out the cat was Jack, he'd be fucked. Cats can't shoot bullets.

Jack pawed at the wearable more desperately, hissing and preparing toh fuck it's Jade. He clawed weakly at her metal arms and flailed some. NO PUT HIM DOWN, THIS IS A BAD IDEA.

"No clue, but looks like something fucked it up good," Dave replied, noting the missing leg. Poor little fucker probably couldn't get around well on his own. Did it belong to anyone? He didn't see a collar, but cats couldn't be bothered with collars half the time anyway.

Once Jade had Jack in her arms, Dave moved in to scratch under his chin, ignoring all signs of obvious feline distress. Because there was no way that could backfire horribly on him or anything.
