[Virgil had been planning on taking a nice long nap in Shepard's bathtub and maybe reassembling the toaster, but the sudden lack of gills and thumbs threw a sizable wrench in his plans.

While his new form offered him some protection from people who meant him harm simply because they wouldn't recognize him, he felt that if anything his size or larger was hungry enough to attack him, he wouldn't stand a chance. Normandy base was the safest place to hide until he got accustomed to his new (hopefully temporary) body.

Nose to the floor, he sniffed his way through the base. There had to be something interesting to get into like this...]

There was a large, black, shaggy dog snuffling at the floor.

Shepard's first thought was: Not Kaidan, and she immediately paused in her step to reflect on just how ridiculous that thought and its accuracy actually were. She frowned lightly, more at herself than the dog, and then turned to stare at it. First there was the little puppy that made friends with Kasumi--it was so cute even Shepard had a hard time not letting out a 'Daw' when it started talking about how much it enjoyed just living--then there was Kaidan, a big black...German Shepard? She'd never been particularly adept at identifying breeds of dog.

Didn't come up much in extra-terrestrial military training.

Now, there was a black dog sniffing around all manner of sensitive equipment.

Shepard stared at it and tried, for a moment, to ascertain just who this one was, or if a stray had managed to actually wander in during the chaos that had followed the teleporter malfunction. (Were there strays? Most of the dogs on the station had to be clones, if there were any free- ( ... )

[Virgil froze. Digging around in other people's things was on the list of shit you don't want Shepard to catch you doing. He was just so curious and nobody ever let him touch their stuff and his dog instincts had found some way to justify it.

He flitted through his options. Shepard thought he looked terrible? Everyone so far had said this body was an improvement. Shepard should have been on that wagon. Did that mean she didn't know who he was? Perfect. He could keep his trap closed and get out of this scott-free.

He turned and plopped down, tongue lolling and tail wagging. It was the perfect plan. Except he had forgotten he was wearing his welding goggles to glean information.]

Skyfire can do little more than hang around. He'd brought a small sack of cookies (though the urge to tear it open and devour them all is strangely strong like this) for Shepard, awkward as this is.

It's just another body to adapt to.

Though thinking like this is far more difficult. Gathering organized thoughts and data-

Even more difficult than as a human, and that had been jarring.

There was a large, well kept, white dog trotting through the kitchen. It had a look of resigned consternation across its face, a relatively impressive feat considering it was a dog, and a paper bag in its mouth. Shepard halted in the doorway and stared for a moment.

This made, what? Four dogs?

At this rate, she'd need a kennel.

"Alright, I'm going to lay my money on..." Shepard started and folded her arms across her chest-plate. She hummed and drummed her fingers against her armor. Not climbing out of vents...generally annoyed, and walking around like he owned the place but didn't want to be at work today? "Joker?"

He brightened a bit when he saw her. Shepard was one of those strong-willed people that Skyfire found himself inexplicably drawn to. Maybe it was because he naturally sought out people who would compliment his complacent and generally passive personality.

He doesn't seemed bothered, he just shakes his head. No- not Joker. Trotting up to her, he sets down the bag at her feet and nudges her hand with his nose.

"Hello commander it's so good to see you I brought you a present! I brought you some snacks and I didn't even try to eat them aren't you just the most proud of me by the way it's Charlie if you were wondering please open the bag it is for you because I love you."

Sagan had a talent for rendering Shepard dumbstruck. It was rare and he did it with the kind of efficiency that most politicians would kill for. Shepard reached out and patted his snout idly before picking up the bag.

He'd brought cookies.

The dog had brought her cookies because he loved her.

"Good job...how long have you been a dog?" Shepard asked and closed the bag.

A small blue and black dragon, about knee-high, came racing in through the front door, blue flames spouting from its nostrils as it looped in the middle of the living room and smashed into the ceiling, wings fluttering as it fell on its back on the floor.

"Wonderful," the dragon said in Jamison's voice, a gout of blue flame spraying from its mouth. "Someone please tell me I'm not the only one to be species-swapped."

Shepard froze in position as the small black creature burst in, crashed into everything it could manage to get anywhere near, and then hit the floor. When it started complaining in her own voice, it took about half a second for her to identify the officer. Shepard put her gun and rag down on the table and leaned back in her chair. The floor was going to be irreparably scorched at this rate...but at least the metal superstructure of the building wasn't flammable.

"Not by a long shot," Shepard answered dryly. "Count yourself lucky you're not a dog; it seems like it's the new black."

Jamison righted herself and managed to- well, it wasn't quite flying, more like a shaky semblance of gliding- flail her way toward the table with the beautiful grace of a malfunctioning machine. With a leap, she landed atop the wood and sat on her haunches.

"I suppose this way I can at least attack, if necessary," she said doubtfully. "I'm sure Dug is ecstatic at having more friends to play with. Unless he's been transformed..." she trailed off and stared into space as horror dawned upon her at the prospect of Dug- gentle and wonderful though he was- being a human or, God forbid, something yet more powerful. Right. No.

"Ignoring that horrifying possibility," she said briskly, "what have the others ended up as?"

"Currently? Garrus is human, we have an unidentified alien house-guest, four dogs, and an elcor," Shepard answered like she was listing off groceries.

"And now a dragon." She paused and eyed Jamison. "You need anything that requires thumbs, or you good?"
