The teleportation system was far more underwhelming than he had expected, in fact, it had no more affect on him than blinking. Actually, that's about all it was. Sure, he wasn't expecting a cosmic light show or anything, but that something so complex and by all means impossible like teleportation was packaged in the form of the shortest elevator ride in history was as mind boggling as it was almost disappointing.

At least there wasn't any of the unpleasant side-effects he had been gearing himself up for when he stepped out. All his organs felt intact and in place, and there was no rush of nauseous or vertigo. Might as well have just walked up a flight of stairs, for all the impact it had. Can't win them all, Alan figured.

The surprises this station still had in store was almost enough to distract him from the purpose of taking this field trip. Tron, once a name he didn't give any serious thought beyond an endearing nickname and product was suddenly a million other things; apparently a person, for one. A living, breathing entity of ( ... )

Tron hadn't removed his wearable, so Flynn shouldn't have trouble locating him. Whether he simply hadn't thought of it, or whether he actually wanted to be found remained to be seen... he probably couldn't have even said.

Unaware of the two Users' approach, he continued his attack on the hapless walls surrounding him on three sides, becoming increasingly reckless in his moves.

Alan held out his hand, unable to hide the eager look on his face. It was new, previously unheard of tech with an infinite numbers possibilities as to what it could do, it was like Nerd Christmas came early this year. Alan was a little surprised to find it warm to the touch, how it felt in his hands, a subtle rumble like the tiniest heart beat. He exercised only the most gentle of touches as he ran his fingers around its rim, reminding himself to breathe as he marveled at it's dueling complexity and aesthetic simplicity.

He didn't know what it was he activated for it to spark to life. But almost instantly a white, pixelated representation of Flynn- like a bust statue made of tiny stars. It was,

"IncredibleHe chanced to hold the disk in one hand, and give the display an hesitant, experimental prod. The second his hand brushed against the display, it dissipated and Alan almost thought he broke something and jerked his hand back, only to find he merely accessed something else entirely ( ... )
