Gardenia spent most of her getting-ready time trying to think of appropriate ways to murder Virgil if he really did go after the poor kid. She wasn't sure what it was, but there was something decidedly off about Vaultie - and not the terrifying kind of off, either. He reminded her of puppies with brain trauma and finches with broken wings. A gimpy finch in armor, sure - but still a gimpy finch. It was the least she could do to go dancing with him, really. Besides, it'd been so long since she last went dancing with anyone - and with the helmet he really did look an awful lot like Archer ( ... )

And there she was. He mumbled a little "Oh," under his breath, his eyes like saucers. She was perfect in his eyes, that picture perfect pin-up. And that hair! He wondered if it was natural. There were few things in the wastes left over from Pre-War, but hair dye was one frivolity people indulged in.

He took a deep breath, running a hand through his hair as he approached Gardenia. Smiling sheepishly, he waved. "Hey. Hi."

Goodness, he had even left his sniper rifle at home, and only had his 10mm at his hip. What if something large and dangerous burst through the dance hall? Well. Maybe she would be impressed if he beat off whatever beast there was with a tiny pistol. Girls liked that. Right?

"It's. I'm glad you came. Is this- here alright?"

"Hi!" Gardenia smiled brightly, but couldn't help fidgeting with her white gloves as he approached. He looked so young, which only reminded her that Virgil had really been a dick to a kid. An apparently vaguely nervous one.

"It's perfect," Gardenia said, and really it was. She could use some old-fashioned non-threatening fun, and if the dance hall was anything it was old-fashioned and non-threatening. The same could be said for Vaultie himself, really - and she knew that the longer they'd stand around, the more awkward it would get. The only solution was to dance said awkwardness away, and she grabbed his hand without a second thought, not even noticing the gun. "Let's dance, yeah?"

And with that she dragged him off to the dancefloor.

He made some sort of awkward squawking bird sound as he was yanked away, and he was quick to follow on her heels. It was a mantra in his head: she's so beautiful, she's so kind, she's so smart.

There are no poles nearby, so he can't show Gardenia his more advanced raptor taught moves. He does, however, know how to waltz, and that's easy enough. He put his hands on her waist, careful not to go too low. He didn't want to offend her.

"I. I had a friend teach me some new dance moves." He blurted out. Yes. Smooth. So smooth.
