1/31: twas the day after combat and all through the barracks... i_would_kindly February 10 2011, 01:01:12 UTC
It had been a day since he had lost his lighter, engaged in a violent encounter with a still unidentified enemy, and treated the wounds of a (very strong, spirited, and pretty) woman named Seven. His lip was still swollen, but that was the extent of his injuries. The bruises and stiffness were easy enough to ignore ( ... )

Her little tussle with Jack and the giant, odd mechanical creature, and her resulting cracked rib, didn't do much to deter her from further venturing out; all it really did was slow her down a little, force her to stick closer to the Barracks and to Kurzweil.

And after one painful experience leaping between buildings, she decided to keep it closer to the ground for a while until her rib healed.

It was a constant reminder, a dull ache, about the event, and she couldn't help but linger over questions it had brought up. Was that thing up and running around again? Would it be looking for her? Or for this Jack person? If she found one, would she find the other? A small smile ghosted over her lips, would she have to bail him out again?Although really, it was a fairly even match, as far as fighting alongside another went. She'd not had that experience for a while, so used to fighting alone, and wondered if there'd the chance for more ( ... )

Jack heard, rather than saw, Seven's descent. Not knowing what it was, but wanting to investigate the strange noise, he ran toward it with silenced steps. He caught a glimpse- clothes or hair, he couldn't be sure, but he followed it as quick and cautious as he could. When he poked his head out of the alley, there was no one in sight.

His grip tightened on his pipewrench as he walked cautiously under an arched doorway. Houdini splicer? But he hadn't heard the telltale noises. He kept a lookout for hidden areas that they could pop out of. Taking a lead pipe to the face would do very little for his headache.

7 springs up the back of the alley, climbing the corner between the building and the chainlink gate, knowing there was someone behind her and not wanting to stop long enough to check. She drops down on the other side, landing on a dumpster and then rolling to the far side for cover, pausing a few moments to regain her breath before slipping away again out the other end.

FUCK DATES.... PRE-PROM i_would_kindly February 27 2011, 03:09:54 UTC
[Seven had recovered to the point that her attempts to escape the base were growing more numerous. Jack couldn't blame her for being antsy. He couldn't imagine what being bed-ridden would be like. Still, with the healing wound in her skull he wanted her to be as careful as much as any of the Spartans. An outing might do her good, really. Getting out might make her less eager to get herself into trouble.

Jack's talk with Atlas had steeled him. Indeed, it had been the other man's encouragement that had put the plan into motion. At first, he thought that he saw the faintest hint of disapproval when he mentioned the how but it had been gone too quickly to tell. Replaced by a firm hand on his shoulder, a grin, and a few words of advice.

Jack knocked on Seven's door, stomach fluttering nervously. He could rush headlong into a dark room and face a dozen enemies in a row without blinking. Somehow the task looming ahead seemed more daunting. Exciting. But daunting.]

7 pauses as she hears the knock on the door. She had been in the process of trying to pry open the window, which had now been sealed closed from the outside. After a moment she gives a little sigh of defeat and settles herself cross legged on the bed in a half-assed attempt to look innocent, before answering.

"Come in."

Jack smiles at her silently for a few seconds before remembering that he came to get her and not the other way around.

"Would you like to... go... for a walk," he asked, suddenly feeling very shy.

She looks at him for a moment with a blank expression, blinking. And then she's scrambling off the bed with a sort of desperate "Yes! Absolutely!" because no one had let her go anywhere for days and she was about ready to go insane.

There was a slight, wavering pause as she stood up to fast, a hand going to her head with a frustrated grumble.
