Now seems like a good day as any to have something of a. Private party.

Frankly, he just thinks better if he's by himself. Things can be awfully distracting when he's around Shockwave, and Dug is rarely ever silent. Soundwave appreciates their presence, but planning and computing is simply easier without them right now. Precious as they are.

In his hands, blueprints. Vague in design, but willing to change depending on what he's given. Soundwave considers.

Then he pauses. The sound of someone's footsteps.

Calmly, Soundwave folds the sheet and tucks it away into his pocket. Aside from this, there is of course tea.

And there's always a second cup.

Soundwave turns his head up; increasing in view is someone with brilliant red hair and a dark cloak to match. Not really conspicuous, but the Decepticon knows that he himself isn't really one to talk.

"Hello there," he calls out effortlessly, sinking a little in his chair. Still a perfect position without looking. Stiff.

After so many years of doing recon for the Organization, it doesn't take Axel too long to check an area out. There's a system to getting it done both effectively and efficiently. Here, it's even faster: it's not like there's any towns to observe, or any people he needs to avoid.

In spite of this, when he hears a voice call out to him, his first instinct is still to get out of sight. Another result of his years with the Organization. Fortunately, he doesn't actually act on the urge: instead, he turns towards the noise, immediately seeking out its source ( ... )

The gesture is returned, a little more naturally now for Soundwave after practice. He's still trying to follow human gestures. Not easy.

The T-800 probably performs this task a little better than himself. Soundwave can at least sound like anyone he wants to.

"I wouldn't blame you. This place is quite enormous, the capability to house thousands of lives -- yet only a few of us are here. Human, alien, inorganic--"

There isn't a pause, but his are listening carefully. This person is organic, but only to a degree. There is no heart. So what is he?

"--and others unaccounted for." A small quirk of his lips implies a smile. "You haven't been here long, if I remember right. But your name escapes me."

Good to see that the man's talkative enough. There's nothing quite like trying to get information out of someone who's not up for conversation. Sure, it's worth it if there's information worth getting, but that's been hard to determine in this place. For the most part, people seem to know as little about this world station as he does.

"Nah, not too long," he says, putting on a decently friendly expression as he draws closer. "About a month, I guess. Seems like less, but you know how time goes."

That the man's gestures are a little stiff doesn't escape the redhead's notice. Nor do they strike him as particularly unusual; he's known plenty of individuals whose gestures were far more forced. Of course, most of those were Nobodies.... But he's seen a few like that here, too.

"The name's Axel," he says when he reaches the table. A table in a Garden Zone. This guy knows how to make himself comfortable. "Got it memorized?"
