Steve has been drawing. He found himself some pencils, a pad of paper, and shut himself into his new, spartan quarters to sketch wherever his thoughts take him. What he's ended up with is several pages of mixed portraits and scenery pieces, buildings, the occasional half-sketch of a map. He can't work up the enthusiasm to properly detail any of them - once something takes shape, is clear enough to see, he moves onto the next.

Peggy's knock makes him jump. He gets up, wincing as his body protests moving. "Coming."

The sketchbook gets tossed onto the bed as he opens the door, concern his first reaction. "Did something happen?"

She shakes her head. "No, not really," she starts, glancing at the sketchbook. She's glad to see he's found one here. "Not entirely. I'm not interrupting, am I? May I come in?"

It's not like she's expecting him to turn her away, but it's the principle of asking. She knows him, knows herself; company, at least each other's, is probably welcome right now.

"No, no- come in. Of course." He stands back at once, though as she comes inside he can't resist leaning forward just a fraction to feel her brushing past. Not something he would have tried before the garden, but - well, she'll let him know if he's out-of-bounds, and-

No, Rogers, he thinks. You don't need to apologize. You don't.

Steve shuts the door, relaxing a little once they're out of public view. The room is basic, almost like a private room in a bunker - it's somehow homey that way. "I'd offer you something to drink, but..." He shrugs, trying to make it a joke.

Peggy makes no comment, despite noticing, only stepping quickly and quietly into the room, turning to face him when he shuts the door. Even just seeing him standing there is a small comfort.

"It's quite all right," she says with a slight grin.

Now that she's here, she's not... entirely sure where to start. "How..." are you? It dies on her lips, because she already knows the answer. "What have you been drawing?"
