Mechs, in Barricade experience, tend to look like their cars, he's found. Big and beefy, short and slender... dark and brooding. Plus, people that he doesn't recognize in some form or fashion around here are few and far between, and he's sure he'd know that one.

So it's really only a matter of time before he finds Convoy's physical alt mode, running a (slightly chunkier, bright-white) claw along his roof.

"Nice costume. Been saving it f'r a special occasion?"

The body is different, heavier with lighter colors and yellow optics, but that voice is all the Saleen.

Focus on the holomatter, it's only when the claw drags down that Nemesis registers proximity - and he's immediately on guard, breaking the system to restore all others to full, prepare-

Wait.

"...Barricade?"

He chuckles quietly. That. Had been far more effective than he'd expected it to be. And a lot more fun.

"Gonna have to learn how to use that holoform without so much concentration. Handsome brooding dark-haired gent, right? Nice choice.
Got it in one, by the way."

Fragging-

Nemesis rumbles his engine in a growl as he starts rediverting power to restore it. Barricade's right, but it hardly makes him any less sore.

"Only made sure it wasn't brightly colored. Knock Out took care of the details."

He grin widely, pleased in spite of the engine growl. Sometimes a little shaming can go a long way in making progress. Barricade would know.

It's a lot more fun doing the shaming than getting it.

"Knock Out, huh? Doesn't have bad taste in humans. Though the color choice c'n go a long way in making it. How you handling it?"

"Ask me when the night's over."

The voice comes from the forming man-shape next to the Nissan, rezzing itself in only a few seconds. The holoform then peers up at Barricade, frowning a little.

"...is that your...'costume'?"

"I'll take you up on that."

Barricade isn't overly startled by the appearance of the holoform. Hello, handsome~ He nods slightly at the question. Proud of his work? Just a little bit.

"Decided t'go big, since people 'round here already know my holoform. One of the other mechs from home."

He turns in profile, lifting one wing - the hologram resists for a moment before spluttering and showing its underframe as the black-edged wing cuts through it.
The spiderweb cracks in that one's glass are already gone, at least.

"You clearly have a better understanding of this custom than I do."

Nemesis notes the change without much surprise. If it can create something from nothing, then it can disguise what's already there. He nods once, 'leaning' against himself.

It creates an odd sensory echo.

"I've been around humans longer. Had more time t'get to know it."

Barricade flattens the wing back down, letting it disappear under the hologram. Still not exactly used to the sensation of breaking through it with himself really.

He tips his chin slightly at the holoform after a moment. "Feels weird, don't it?"

"Must have interacted with them, too." A somewhat awkward shrug. At least it's not difficult to translate certain impulses to movement on the form.

As for how it feels...

"...feels like I've deafened and blinded myself. On purpose."

"From time t'time. Mostly I watched; drawing attention would've been... a bad idea." And being human for a while hadn't hurt, either.

"It gets easier, when you don't have to focus as much on maintainin' the holoform. Yours looks more solid than my old one, though."

"Standard sequence, I'm guessing. Better for your...health." Autobots with humans, Decepticons...not so much.

He shifts, a little. "And I'm hoping so. I'm planning on using it for other occasions."

"Much better for my health. But still... disappointing, in a way." He hadn't wanted the military on his tail, but what he wouldn't have given to sometimes show them what he was. Just for the screams.

"It will. Give it time. And I don't doubt it; they're useful things t'have. Especially around organics."

After a moment, Nemesis decides to let the thread drop. Why linger on things out of grasp...?

...all right, so he does it himself quite often. Moving on.

"If it keeps strangers from trying to ride in me, then how can I say no."

That would be the worst question to ask Barricade. The worst ever, right after 'does this paint job make my aft look big?'

"Oh, that's an easy fix. 'If I sneeze, I might accidentally transform and crush you'. Though an intimidating holoform don't exactly hurt. Folks don't usually try to catch rides in already-owned vehicles."

"So I'll ride in myself. Hopefully it'll work better than just the look; Skyfire already suggested I was cute."

A beat.

"I'm pretty sure he was halfway to slagged, though."
