Megaman had his hands in his pockets (new clothes: a pinstripe vest over a light blue shirt and navy blue slacks) as he walked with Joe. When he'd first come here, after he'd gotten over his disorientation and anger at being dislocated he'd asked nothing but questions; now, however, he was silent.
Light was here. Father was here.
Father was here, and the man didn't even know Megaman's face. He knew it wasn't Light's fault, it was something about this place but that still hurt, and the anger from days ago (from his perspective) when he'd been destroying Wily's armies was still fresh.
Why didn't you avenge his death? Why won't you let me avenge his death? Have you given up...?
And yet, recognition or not, this was still his father. There was absolutely a part of him that was so very glad to see him (glad not to feel so alone, even with Joe's company). It was just...
He was conflicted. Anger and joy warred in him, and he kept his expression carefully neutral.
Thomas was still disoriented, to say the least. The people on the video network had helped him, and he thought he could survive, but the location wasn't what was throwing him off.
Joe was there, along with a son Thomas had not even yet thought of building, and that threw Thomas off more than anything else could have. (Except, maybe, if Emily had been there too.)
He was exploring around him when he heard Joe's voice, and he looked up with an honest smile. Strange or not, seeing the boy alive again was amazing. There was a fresh surge of guilt with it, but he tried to fight it down. "Joe. I... It's very good to see you."
Joe returned Light's smile, having the oddest sense urge to have a drink. Shaking it off, he motioned to the blue clad man beside him. "Good ta see you too Light. This is Megaman." Yep. Nothing awkward about introducing a guy to his future kid. Except maybe if Flynn mentioned his crazy videogame theory.
"I'd introduce Proto too but, he hasn't been around for two months." Joe mentioned Protoman had been here before, right? No? Well he'd get to it later.
He couldn't quite suppress the surge of jealousy that came with Light acknowledging Joe and not him, and he hoped the other man didn't notice the small glare shot in his direction.
"... hello," he finally said, a bit awkwardly. What the heck are you supposed to say after you've been introduced to your own father?
