Delta?
There's no answer, nothing but a glaring silence in the back of his head, but he knows Delta's supposed to be there, everything's wrong and messed up and really what the hell happened?
He has his suspicions right off the bat, but he can't think straight, can't seem to get past jumbled thoughts and he just gives up, eventually, and goes to the nearest safehouse, hands shaking as he gets into normal clothes, and just puts his head in his hands for a moment.
you know you don't think right with Delta not there, but something's not right, the dates are wrong and you--
The ping makes him pause, and he just stares for a long moment before heading out the door as fast as he can. There's no thought about traps or who he has to see or alert-- it's Sarah, he has to figure out what's going on ( ... )

Something about being kidnapped from your own home by a dragon does that to a person.
She recognizes his voice, though, and breathes an audible sigh of relief, pushing herself up on her hands to lean around the tree so she can see him.]
...York?
[She looks about as bad as she feels - tired and hungry and dirty, in the same clothes she'd been wearing the last time he'd saw her a week ago, and her eyes are wide and haunted.]

She's out she's free how did she--
York shoves that aside and moves forward quickly, already reaching out, their prior arguments gone and forgotten as he cups her cheek and presses his forehead to hers. ]
Oh, jesus, sweetheart, what happened? How did you get out--?

York - I can't - I couldn't save him, I tried, I tried -
[She'd resisted AM's torture at first, as valiantly as she could, but after a week of scenario after scenario in which she tried, and failed, to save John from the Terminators, she can't even close her eyes anymore without seeing his death play out before her again and again.]

It's nearly an hour later that he comes back; the robots had delivered what he ordered to the front door and he'd went on a shopping trip of his own to get food for a meal today, along with a few other things. It takes just a few moments to drag it all in, and then a few minutes in the kitchen, and soon enough he's heading to Sarah's bedroom door, a steaming mug of cocoa in his hands, a ridiculously large, soft blanket in another, and a bag of clothes hanging on one wrist. ]
...Sarah?

She hadn't been thrilled about the idea of York going out for supplies, but they needed food, at least, and once he'd gone she'd retreated to the bedroom, exhausted but unable to sleep. She has no idea what time it is, and doesn't really care.
She shifts when York calls softly at the door, raising her head from the pillow but not getting up to open it.]
Come in.

The bag of clothes he just puts off to the side, and takes to offering her the mug, first. ]

She takes the blanket gratefully, drawing it around herself, and forces herself to smile when he offers the hot chocolate, but she can't quite bring herself to care. Hot chocolate just doesn't seem to matter much, right now, but she can appreciate the gesture.
Mostly, she's glad he's back.]
Either one.
