There was something to be said for a telepath trying to clear his mind. So much had happened in the past few weeks that really, all he wanted was the silence of his old empty home in Westchester, where he could wander the halls accordingly unbothered ( ... )

Eleanor heard Charles approaching before he spoke, and she'd already moved up several branches, so she wound up sitting on one perhaps twenty five feet above the ground, bare feet crossed at the ankles and her wrists braced on the branch as she peered down at him. She really did look a mess, frankly, but it was obviously her.

"...What do you want?"

She didn't mean to be suspicious, but other than Camille on the network, she hadn't actually spoken to anyone in weeks.

He glanced up at the noise, shielding his eyes with the back of his hand. "Presently? Nothing, I just saw your suit scattered about the place and was worried something had happened. You're-- ah, all right, I expect?"

She didn't answer for a moment, just sort of watching him. She hadn't spoken to him much, but Charles had always been...well...nice to her. And he'd offered to help her, even if...the offer didn't actually matter at all. "I'm fine. I...needed to get away for a while."

After a moment, she dropped down a few branches so she was ten feet or so above him, crouched on a branch. "Thank you for your offer before but Cindy is gone."
