Gem wouldn't have been able to explain how she got here if she tried. It was all a jumbled mess, her processes and data streams glitching from whatever had been done.

She was thankful, at least, that she was a stoic; her face revealed little, despite the growing agitation within her. Everything hurt--every move against the bars sent shocks to her system, her white lights flickering in protestation. It hurt, but her systems were currently processing the surges well enough--she was made for fluctuations, moreso than others. It would help her in this--she hoped.

Listening to him speak, Gem pressed her lips together into a thin line, her eyes watching the body.

The matter line irked her--she hated that he knew, somehow, the thing that bothered her the most.

"I am of little use. You'll gain little by dealing in me."

It was a lie, even as she said it. But she knew how to play games on the Grid. The wordplay and the twists that could get her freedom.

Somehow, she knew they wouldn't work, here.

"Oh, au contraire. You are immensely integral to many things, larger than you can possibly comprehend."

Another shock runs through the cage, running through the program. Slowly, winding down from the top of her prison like vipers are various wires.

"Let us play a game. Because you must be so good at those. For each answer you get correct, I will not shock you. For each answer you get wrong, well... easy enough to calculate what I'll do, won't it?"

The power winds down. For now.

"I will start to ask you questions. Do you understand the rules?"

Gem nearly hissed, unable to help but spasm as the shock ran through her systems, her processors desperately trying to regulate themselves.

"...yes." She had little choice but to say yes, she knew. And she also had no doubt that AM would cheat. But playing the game would give her time to try and find a way out--if it was possible at all.
