With any luck, given time, they'd-- all just go, really. The idea that people came and went was a small comfort but one nonetheless. The last thing any of them need is more enemies coming and while it's always an option, he hopes- naive as it is, that maybe they'll catch a break.
He's just as tired as she is when it comes down to it, though he refuses to ever show it or comment on it. Delta knows-- and he's sure Sarah knows, but none of them really talk about it.
"Sounds like a plan to me, sweetheart," he agrees, and slides a hand around her waist to push it into her pocket so they're side-by-side, kissing her cheek. And just as they enter the teleporter, "What're you in the mood for?"
Sarah shakes her head, opening her mouth to respond. She doesn't care what's for dinner, as long as it's got real calories in it, but she never gets a chance to say so, because they enter the teleporter and suddenly -
- and suddenly she's somewhere she's never been before, and she doesn't know where it is but this is definitely not the street outside her apartment.
She stares around for a moment, wide-eyed, at the unfamiliar surroundings, and a good three seconds pass before she realizes that there's someone else there, and oh god, it's a guy and she doesn't know him but he's definitely got a hand in her pocket.
She pulls back, a little startled, staring at him with a surprised "oh!"
He staggers out the door with a sigh, scratching his stomach, except--
His hand is in something and he tips his head to the side, squinting, looking at the girl who-- why the fuck does he have a hand in some girl's pocket.
He's not that drunk, and he's sure as hell not that hungover--
"Whoa, what the hell--" Sean starts, and jerks back, just staring at her for a long moment, pressing his hands to his eyes, and then jerking around. "-- uh."
This isn't the base. This isn't home. What the hell.
"S-sorry," she stammers, instinctively, pulling back and tucking her own hands safely in her pockets. "I didn't - I mean - um."
He's...really kind of cute but that's not important right now, Sarah, what's important is figuring out what exactly is going on. She looks around, a little helplessly. The last thing she remembered was pushing open the front door of her apartment building, heading out, and now -
She can't figure it out.
"Um," she repeats, and hesitates, looking up at him a little uncertainly. "Are you...one of Matt's friends?"
Because her roommate's boyfriend setting up a prank is the only explanation that even starts to make sense.
