Considering it's a space station, police cars are not exactly the most common of occurrences (but neither are sentient space ships, for what it's worth) so the TARDIS is, of course, curious. Her holoform is out and walking about when she spots the conspicuous vehicle, and like any good scientific space and time travelling vessel, she heads over to investigate, filing away the shield and motto in her data banks as she begins walking around him, taking in every detail she can.

"I have encountered my fair share of multiple dimensions, I admit." She doesn't seem to think anything of the tapping and continues, leaning heavily against the car as she considers her answer. "It is fascinating to see how many there are, especially in a hub as this one."

But transforming robots? How ingenious. "A survival mechanism, this ability to change?" If so, it wouldn't be entirely different than her chameleon circuits.

He's so tempted to do something. It's been so long since he's been able to toy with organics. None of them even know what he is here, yet. At the very least he could try to get a reaction... but no. Not yet. "Unusual to see hubs of so many, t'my knowledge."

"I assume. Ones I talked to that'd been to Earth said they used it to keep humans unaware of them." Fat lot of good it's actually done, but still.

Perhaps if he knew she isn't organic, he wouldn't be so quick to want to toy with her, moot though the point may be. The more he speaks, however, the more intrigued she is. It isn't any one thing -- it isn't even any specific thing -- but this man speaks as though he knows more than a human should. The TARDIS simply can't place why that is.

"You know of hubs at all? Curious, for a human."

Then again, he's been tossed into the fray with robotic organisms. Perhaps he has more reason to understand advanced quantum mechanics than many others. "Most races when visiting that planet try to keep from being noticed. My Doctor and I did often, as well."

If nothing else, he comes off as a very old soul, especially for someone that is (apparently) in his twenties. Though, for all he's seen of police officers - mostly from fiction - that might just be normal. Except for the fact that that soul is over 12,000 years old.

"Having been in one, it should be too much of a stretch."

That, and he's become a minor expert on wormholes and portals out of sheer necessity. Someone had to do the calculations for jumps. Though his curiosity is piqued in return. "Your... Doctor?" Oh yes, he heard that capitalization..

It isn't entirely different from her situation, seeing as her hologram is early thirties by human standards, but contains thousands of years of knowledge.

"You would be surprised the amount of creatures that are unaware of the universe around them. A hub would not be something they necessarily notice."

Pushing away from the car, the TARDIS begins walking around "Barricade," head tilted and unceremoniously looking him up and down as though she might find some new information by doing so. "My pilot, yes. A Time Lord."

"Well. Maybe I've just gotten used to things being more than meets the eye."

"Time Lord, huh?" He's heard that term before. Where has he heard that term before. He ends up wracking his processor for the information rather than keeping the holoform steady and whole. And while there's little to be gained from either the car or the man - save his nameplate, which reads 'Corporal B. Cade', and his badge which indicates he's from Tranquility, CA PD - there might be plenty to be gained from the fact that his face briefly warps and flickers out, showing the blue Cybertronian understructure of his 'face'.

She almost laughs at that, giving the man a knowing look. "A wise approach to the universe."

That mirthful look slowly morphs into something else as Barricade focuses on remembering the Doctor's species. The TARDIS' dark eyes widen and she steps closer to him, gaze intent, anything she may have been meaning to say or add to the conversation gone the moment "Barricade's" face disappears.

She reaches a hand toward his cheek, curious as to if he's even structurally sound. "More than meets the eye, indeed."

He only actually realizes his mistake as she reaches for him. And he knows that, while his hologenerator was upgraded so the holoform will be more solid, it only offers so much resistance.

Though, even if he's been found out, he's reluctant to give up the game entirely. Who knows who or what might be watching, after all? Barricade instead tips the holoform's head, to get his face out of range - even temporarily - while trying to make it look more like curiosity than evasion.

"Could be said for a lot of folks, I've found."

"Most do not lose their faces," she quips in response, bobbing her head to try and see his as he attempts to keep his face out of sight. He's infinitely more fascinating now that he ever was before and the TARDIS is not one to give up easily. Especially not when something like this occurs. "You are not human. What are you?"

Well, when asked that bluntly... Barricade leans his holoform back against him a little more, arms propped on his roof, and grins all toothy. "To put it simply?" And here, he laughs, and his engine chugs and coughs with it in a deep, growled chuckle. "I'm a whole lot better."

The TARDIS' eyes open a little as she looks between the holoform and the car, piecing things together and formulating a theory. Stepping close, she reaches out a hand to place on 'Cade's hood. "You are inorganic. Of course you would be superior."

He'd grin, if he good. At least her figuring it out means he doesn't have to focus so much on the holoform. At least the holoform glitches are only occasional. His engine rumbles, and for a moment he flicks on his lights. "Smart. Takes longer for most folks to figure it out."

"I am not most others," she points out, trailing a hand along his frame. "Why take the holoform?"

It's a hypocritical question, considering she's using one, herself, but his reasons intrigue her and she's never been one to dismiss her curiosity.

"So I'm guessing," he retorts.

And the reasons? Oh, that's simple, for him. "Would you believe that most people are disturbed by talking cars... and whatever else they happen to be? Most organics tend t'try to murder me. And some of the organics here... well, hear they don't like non-organics too much." It's easier to hide what he is than have to pop out dents and repaint himself. Not that it's the full reason, of course. But close enough.

She nods, more accustomed to the xenophobic nature of humans than she might otherwise let on. "Most species dislike what is other from them, though I find humans in general have an aversion to sentient robotic lifeforms. They think themselves superior and you frighten them." The ship shakes her head. "But to harm you so ... that is unacceptable."

Pushing away from his side, the TARDIS turns to face Barricade properly. "There are those here who dislike machines and those who prefer humans. Not all the station residents feel that way."
