DARK FUTURE MEME
[We know who it is we want. We have a collective mind.
We don't miss a single step. We're always right behind.
We know we serve someone else. We have swallowed our pride.
We march to this tune of loss. We take this in our stride.]

Name: Nepeta Leijon
Current location: Asphodel
Current Physical Appearance: Fairly similar to her younger self - Nepeta never got any taller than what she hit at thirteen, but she has compacted even further into pure muscle. Her horns are a bit longer, and she's ditched both the kitty apparel and her trench coat. Also for the most part she goes barefoot.
Summary: Nepeta fled the Station with Karkat and the other trolls he managed to scrounge together, but was separated from them in the chaos. Unable to find her way back to them and cut off from any sort of restraining influence, Nepeta fell back on her feral instincts to survive ( ... )

THE NATURAL INSTINCTS OF A TROLL HAPPENED

Nepeta is incredibly confused, especially because something makes her hesitate whenever she thinks about eating her. THE HELL IS THIS EVEN

YOU TALK ABOUT WEIRD STUFF THAT DOESN'T INVOLVE ME WHY SHOULD I

Delicious meats. This is probably a big reason why she doesn't maul her, yeah.

It was a normal day for Pounce, she was still very much on the prowl. Hunt or be hunted, as it had always been. Creatures that were not familiar were to be exterminated, especially those who had flesh that could be consumed. She had her fill, and she was returning to her normal place that she had resided. Lucky to have this fill before she tired herself out, it was just the returning part that she needed to fulfill.

Except... she made a miscalculation. This was not the place that she had taken as home, but she was tired. She needed to rest. It smelled almost... familiar to her, as if she had smelled this before. Whatever could it be, though? She had it on the tip of her tongues, but she couldn't place it.

Meh. It wasn't registering to her at all why it was familiar. She limped in only deep enough to where she felt was comfortable and laid down. Goodness, did her old bones hurt.

Something had come in! Something very stupid and not human. Nepeta was slightly disappointed that it wasn't something that could be played with, but a meal was a meal. There would be plenty of time to find something to have fun with later.

Still, there was something unsettlingly familiar about the creature that had decided her territory was the perfect place for a nap. It nagged at the back of her mind, bothering her to the point where she delayed attacking for a closer look. Staying in the shadows she crept closer, fairly confident that it wouldn't hear her approach.

oh right, thank you for reminding me. pouncedeleon June 22 2011, 01:58:51 UTC
This scent, what was that scent...? It was similar to her own, but at the same time, it was still different. Despite the aging in her eyes, she could still make out that there was something in the shadows. Pounce's ears pinned back against her head as she hissed quietly, trying to warn Nepeta. The fur on her back raised ever so slightly.

She was in no condition to actually fight back, but she was ready to if she really needed to. She would not hesitate it, if it came down to it. She just... hoped that they were actually friendly. She missed seeing those types of faces around.

no problem, it's what i'm here for. moeclaws June 22 2011, 02:04:58 UTC
Damn, it had spotted her. Nepeta returned the hissing with some of her own, but her heart wasn't in it. She was too busy trying to figure out why the itching in her mind had only gotten stronger the closer she'd gotten to the catthing. It was unpleasant, to say the least.

Maybe it would go away on its own now that it knew she was here. For some reason Nepeta still didn't want to snap its neck.

whatever would I do without you? pouncedeleon June 22 2011, 02:16:08 UTC
She began to rise up, getting ready to pounce. They weren't attacking, but they weren't leaving either. Put on a show for them, you ninny. Try to scare them out.

A growl bubbled deep in her throat, what was left of her tail twitched almost eagerly. To top it off, she showed her fangs, showing that she was missing a few. Some were either broken off, worn down, or broken in half.

The exhibition only served to lower the threat level of whatever this thing was. But if it wanted a show, it was certainly going to get it. This tunnel was hers and it was going to stay that way.

Nepeta unsheathed her claws and reared onto her legs, letting loose an aggressive yowl as she edged slightly out of the shadows in order to show the catthing exactly who was in charge here.

oh. :( pouncedeleon June 22 2011, 02:25:02 UTC
She wasn't going to take the tunnel, it was such a big miscalculation. She hissed again, taking a step back. It was until she stepped out of the shadows, that Pounce almost let down her guard entirely.

This couldn't be happening, there was no way this was happening. Was it really her? She had disappeared so long ago. Her motherly voice had long been abandoned, it was a bit rougher and to some extent very tired sounding. With such a hushed and disbelieving tone, she muttered a single word in questioning. "...Kitten?"

sorry honey. moeclaws June 22 2011, 02:27:50 UTC
It talked. Nepeta hadn't expected that, or what it had said. Something about the word only made her head hurt more, so much so that she almost instantly deflated and rocked back on her heels. Her claws snikted back in place as she struggled to find something coherent to say.

"What?"

i thought i was better than that :'| pouncedeleon June 22 2011, 02:37:57 UTC
It was her. Was it her head messing with her? Or... What? No, if it was her head, she would have looked as she did in her past, she was older. There wasn't anything wrong with that, though.

"It is you. I'm happy..." she whispered, a small smile creeping on the edges of her mouths. "It has been... so long."

we all think that. moeclaws June 22 2011, 02:40:54 UTC
"I don't know you." The words were out of her mouth before she could consider them, but it was true. This raggedy old catthing wasn't something she'd seen before, had never been in the tunnel before today. Why was it saying it knew her?

And why did she feel like crying?

;_; but... but... pouncedeleon June 22 2011, 02:45:56 UTC
She didn't... remember her. Had she been gone that long? Had it really been so long that her own caretaker had forgotten about her? Her shoulders drooped a tiny bit, her tail sliding gently against the ground.

"...You don't? Kitten, it's me---Pounce de Leon." Maybe that would help her jog her memory. She even tried to purr a bit at the end. Something that she had not done in such a long time.

no buts. moeclaws June 22 2011, 02:49:44 UTC
"No no no!" She shook her head frantically, as if to dispel the funny feelings that were becoming more and more insistent. Nepeta didn't like this, she didn't like it at all. Why did this silly animal have to drag itself into her tunnel and mess everything up? It wasn't fair.
