[There's a muffled sound as the video clicks on but for the first few moments the only thing that can be seen is the background of Kurzweil and a young girl fiddling with the bracelet. After a bit the girl makes eye contact with the video and blinks.
The problem with growing up in a lab isolated from most human contact, was that one never really learned how to interact with people. Laura didn't know what to say. More to the point, Laura didn't see a point in saying anything at all. But, she did have questions and this might be the only way to get those questions answered.
Finally, after another few seconds drag, on she speaks, her voice is clear and precise.]
