I'm not sure it could have. The thing goes into all the tissues. I mean, one of the original viruses was designed to cure cancer, it kind of has to, you know?

Oh well! But smaller animals are safe, they can't really amplify. And I'm pretty sure I've not been exposed to the insect-carried strain long enough for it to matter.
