[ She's sitting outside of what one might recognize as Pink's door, looking a little scared. ]

[ Jade doesn't really know what to say. Or what to do. So she just stares, feeling helpless. ]

[ Okay, the portal gets his attention because it's so fucking bizarre. And once Jade comes through it his eyes are locked on her 'til she touches his face.

Fuck. He doesn't want any of them in here right now. Pink flinches away from Jade's hand.

He slams all four of his psychic arms into the wall behind him, ratting it and dumping bits of plaster on everyone's heads. How's that for an answer? ]

[ She doesn't move her hand, letting him flinch away. But she refuses to be afraid of the plaster pieces catching on her hair. ]

Dave, I'm not going to hurt you.

[ Her voice is soft, calm. ]

I just want to make sure you're okay. You can't hide in here, you're hurt and we're worried...you're not in trouble. [ A small smile flits across her face. ] I'll always forgive you, remember?

[Okay, so Pink is still being destructive. Davesprite decides to stay quiet for now; he'd probably just make things worse by talking.

[ Pink picks up a couple pens and a few shards of glass. He starts hurling them at the opposite wall and some might come uncomfortably close to grazing his visitors. ]

Aaaand now he's out of small projectiles. ]

[ She flinches as a shard of glass passes almost too close to her ear, but otherwise doesn't make any move to shrink away. Instead, she decides that she's tired of watching him cower away from them. So she will do something risky.

Slowly, she inches forward and wraps her arms around him. Or she'll try, at least. ]

We don't have to talk about anything.

[Davesprite easily avoids the pens flying past him and moves a little closer. He doesn't trust Pink at all right now, and he definitely does not like Jade being this close to him.]

[ But it's too late. She's hugging him. He is NOT ready for that level of contact and it shows; he's tense and immobile save for his psychic limbs. The invisible fingers are digging into the floor.

[ She lets go almost immediately, looking down at the ground. Jade understands that he needs space, and as much as it pains her, she will give him what he needs. Even if she wants to hug him tight and never let go. ]

[ Instead, she holds out a hand to him, but not too close. Jade's willing to sit there as long as it takes. ]

[Davesprite is... not really sure if he's willing to stay here as long as it takes. He's got an egg he's supposed to be taking care of.

But for now at least he'll wait. What else can he do?]

[ Can he manage some hand-holding? Apparently, because after a few seconds of hesitation he takes her hand, holding it limply.

He shifts a little, stretching his legs out and oh jeez he sliced his foot open at some point. Probably on the glass scattered everywhere. But he doesn't seem to mind. Instead he's watching Davesprite. ]

You know you don't have to stay. [ Your girlfriend will be fine, geez. He's only KIND of unstable. ]

[ She squeezes his hand gently, trying to be reassuring. Jade settles into a cross-legged position, fully prepared to wait out the long haul. ]

Oh Dave, your foot...

[ A frown, but she doesn't make any motion to poke at it. One step at a time; the hand holding was progress enough for now. She looks over her shoulder at Orange. ]

If you think the egg needs you, then you should go! I don't really trust Vriska with it, anyway.

[He looks to them, feeling torn. On one hand, yes the egg does need him. On the other, he's not sure he trusts Pink with Jade. On a third invisible bullshit hand, seeing them like that is making him feel kind of jealous. On the fourth, he... wants to help, too. Jegus, when did he start actually caring about the pink douchebag?

...Still. He's being a third wheel, isn't he.]

[Haha not sounding upset about that at all. Nope.]

[ What's with that tone? Pink keeps staring at him, expression unreadable. Does he actually want to stay? Or is he reading too much into it? Fuck, social cues are hard. Especially when you're feeling totally detached.

Pink shifts his gaze to the floor. Best to just let him go -- he's got enough complicated emotional bullshit going on right now. Adding that is just too much. ]

[ Jade hears that tone and isn't sure what to do. Of course, she wants him to stay -- he's her protector, and even though she's relatively confident in her safety, it doesn't hurt to have someone else there. On the other hand, she knows that Dave needs to be with his egg. ]

It's not that we don't want you to stay. We just know that you have lots of important things to do! And Vriska isn't exactly the best babysitter, I bet she's trying to teach the egg to fly or something.

[ It's said gently. She doesn't want to make orange upset, but the way she shifts slightly closer to Pink is an indication of where her loyalties lie at the current moment. ]
