I can't get over the detail here, it's all so exquisite... oh, wait, video button?

[ ...did she just try to fly... ]

Um. I'm pretty sure you can't fly here! Gravity is a constant, it's always 9.8 meters per second unless you've come in from space or something?

[Blink. OH THERE ARE PEOPLE HERE. Looks down at wearable]

Er, well, yes, on Earth it is, certainly. But we're in space. And...

[Cannot tell dreamers they're dreaming that wakes them up.]

Well, usually in this kind of situation I can fly.

It's a spaceship! I think. Just a humongous one?

[ This guy really seems out of it! Girl? Guygirl? Whatever. ]

I can only fly with my Iron Lass suit, but other than that I'm stuck on the ground! You're new, right?

Ah... yes, I've... I've just arrived, certainly. Yes. I did take the tour though; the narrative here is really well-crafted, far better than most - er.

Rather, I got the general idea.

What's an Iron Lass suit?

It broadcasts to a shared network.

What method do you usually use to override the gravity?

So I noticed...

Um, just... pure force of will? Never thought too hard about how.

[There is a pause. Kim regards the wearable with suspicion, then looks around, as if wondering if she's being overheard. Then she realizes that of course she is, and gives it up.

Of course, it is now a very long and awkward pause.]

Why not?

[It's ok, Kim, because Alex is going to long and awkward pause right back at you, as she debates telling you what's really going on here]

Well I mean.

I'm dreaming. So it's all in my head anyway. I mean if I could suddenly fly in real life I'd ask some friends to do all kinds of tests, and all, but if I'm sleeping it's stupid. You'd get different results each time anyway.

Um...are you new? Cause, uh, welcome to Sacrosanct I guess. Uh, be careful of the teleporters.

... why?

[video] ponynova May 28 2011, 22:31:19 UTC
Well, they're turning people into other things. Like, altering them genetically. Like, look at me, I'm a pony right now but I'm supposed to be a... [Newbie, better be gentle.] ...uh, a person.

Also did you just. Jump off that thing before?

Heh, well, that tends to happen. Sometimes.

I was trying to fly. It doesn't work here.

[HOVER HOVER HOVER.]

I don't know, newbie, it works fine for me. Maybe you should try again?

You have wings. That makes it easy.

[SCREWS UP HER FACE AND TRIES TO HAVE WINGS]

Only somebody naive and wingless would ever say something like that! You really think these fragile sparkly sacks of shit can support my body weight without colossal effort? God!

[The most effortless backflip. I MEAN OH GOD THIS IS SO LABORIOUS. SEE THAT PAINED GRIMACE.]

Doing that? Just took at least eight sweeps off my lifespan.

[Vriska, you're REALLY lucky she's NOT dreaming, because she's giving you a kind of intense look that would have been physically painful if she was

BUT LUCKY FOR YOU SHE'S AWAKE. ]

That's nice.

[she'll just be glomming onto the last part of that monologue]

Well, then you're lucky, because you're trapped here until further notice.

Oh, okay.

[SURPRISINGLY NONCOMMITAL. She's onto you, dream-person. She can wake up ANY TIME SHE WANTS. ]

You don't believe me. I didn't at first, either.

Does it matter? If I can't go home, that's fine. Won't have to pay my rent, then.
