Sollux, the Normandy crew is full of people who are the best at what they do, which mostly includes killing various manners of beings in creative fashions. Granted, I'm unaware of what abilities your species possesses, but if they were unable to protect you from whatever that creature was, they will continue to be unable to do so without help which we can provide.
