[If someone had told him that very morning that he was going to, at some point in the day, step into an Asimov novel, Charles would have just shaken his head at the whimsicality of it all and carried on his merry way.

Falling ten feet through the air and narrowly missing death by protruding metal has a marvelous ability to change a man's mind. ( Read more... )

Couple steps above technicolor, really. [He is not going to explain HD. Or Plasma, for that matter.]

Had a pretty good turnout on the welcome wagon, there, Mr. Xavier. Guess I should throw in a 'welcome t'the station' too, at least.

Up to and including holograms, I've been told. Will wonders ever cease?

Ah, thank you, Mr...?

Not for a long while, most likely. And yes; the wearable can bring up a holographic display. 'S a bit easier to use if you're more of the visual sort.

Cade. Don't often go by my first name, so. [Technically he only has one, but why quibble over that?]

Oh, I'm about equally at ease with any medium. Though the hologram intrigues--

[FIDDLE FIDDLE FIDDLE bam c'est voila. Hologram. Charles just. Glances about himself and then laughs a little, and then switches it back over.]

-- You know, they haven't even landed on the moon in my time?

[... right. cough.]

Mr. Cade. A pleasure to meet you.

You said the 1960s, right? From 2009, myself. Things changed a lot. They've started landing rovers on Mars, by my time. They just need to work on retrieving them after landing them.

[And not landing them where Decepticons can step on them.]

And you, sir. Also, I wouldn't mind the one with the grey text. He, uh. Seems to have an anger management issue when it comes to everyone.

Well, I suppose that would be the difficult aspect. Perhaps one day we'll send little robot probes, and they can find their own way home.

[Of course in Charles' head, robots = TOTALLY ADHERING TO ASIMOV'S LAWS. And not. You know. Decepticon robot laws. Which tend to be 'listen to Megatron and smash things and then cry like a bitch when your plan to overthrow Megatron fails OR IS THAT JUST STARSCREAM hmm.]

I'm not exactly unacquainted with individuals with anger management problems, but I thank you regardless. I'm sure he has a perfectly viable reason for his hostility.

Perhaps. Have been doing fairly well with their robotics, from what I know. Should probably stop tryin' to make them walk up stairs, though.

[No, no, dude. Starscream just always cries like a bitch. And Decepticons with laws? This is a foreign concept!]

Honestly? He might just hate everyone. Or it's an imbalance in his Chi or something.

... is that difficult? Robots walking up stairs?

[... it's STAIRS how hard can it be says the man who doesn't realize he'll one day be paralyzed.]

-- Or that, I suppose.

[r-rofl, grinning a little.]

Bipedal ones, yes. You don't know how many balance issues going into something so simple. We re-orient our hips, ankles, and legs so much doing that...

[And he can say that because he knows. So much wear and tear on his gears is from simple stuff like that.]

Probably needs to realign his chakra... [He grins a bit himself.] Sorry. Knew someone that was really into... that sorta thing.
